We have a poster who is looking for a Fiery Ideal Cut. As an academic exercise, I modeled the two candidates in DiamCalc and came up with these 2 DETAS plots. Serg and Garry, I know you are still trying to figure out how best to quantify these plots. But if you can say anything about how each diamond behaves with respect to fire/scintillation, it can help the poster decide.

Storm,
Don''t you sleep at night? You must be part vampire. I know you like to wear black. Give me a couple of minutes and I''ll put it on the right.

46 crown? Just double checking.

What is the numbers on 1 and 2?

left to right (all .91 ct)
56.5/36.3/40.2/80
54.5/35.5/40.6/76
53/36/40.5/80

The 3rd is the only one id consider.

compare 54.5/35.5/40.6/76 with 54.5/35.5/40.6/80 it will be an eye opener.

Here ya go Storm, I did this really late at night a couple of days ago. So i can''t vouch for its accuracy.
top row left to right (changing crown angle)
57/33.5/40.75/80
52/33.7/41.1/80 (loosely based on GIA Research Diamond 13 which had a high fire score in their study)
57/35.5/40.75/80
bottom row left to right (changing table size)
54/34.5/40.75/80
57/34.5/40.75/80 (DiamCalc default)
60/34.5/40.75/80

Hi Whatmeworry,

I use ETAS and DETAS picture just for UNDERSTANDING who this particular cut work and for CHECKING some .

for compare cuts I using metrics, ETAS(Light return), ColorETAS( Fire), DETAS(Scintillation), NegativeEtas( blind zones). All these metrics are available in DCpro now and will available a soon in standard version too
