It has been quite the week, on Monday I got a call that I have an interview for a postion I really want and one that I have done before as a term position. I really want this job - it is as a Field Education coordinator at the faculty I already work at. I love teaching and it would be wonderful to be able to do it as part of my job, not on top of it as a sessional instructor. Next Friday I have my interview - a 20 minute presentation and an interview however I am out of town the 2 days prior at a conference so life is really busy. What is complicating the busyness is that my FIL just passed away on Tuesday morning and there is so much to do with relation to this, I figure my main role is to support my family. All of this came at a time when I am marking my final essays for the sessional teaching job that I do on top of my "real" job.

Please send me dust, dust so that I can juggle all the balls I need to, dust for my family and dust so that I may be the successful candidate for the position I am applying for.

Thank-you so much for all the good thoughts and well wishes I know I'll get from you wonderful PSers.

Good luck scorpioanne with the juggling of all those things! It always seems life throws us the challenges when we seem least likely to cope - -- but somehow, we DO cope!

So sorry your FIL passed away. I hope you and your DH are managing at this time.

sending you dust for your week ahead :))

Best wishes and dust for you! :wavey:

You can do it! Just take a deep breath and do one thing at a time. It'll be fine. :))

Bump! More dust please!

Thanks ILander and Enerchi! Tomorrow at 9 I have my presentation/interview and I have decided I am excited not anxious so hopefully I can keep thinking that way :0).

That's great you are not nervous (other than a normal level!) and that you are excited! I hope you do well - practice now and get a good nights sleep. Plan a suitable outfit for the interview... just go in being yourself and knowing your stuff, then you have nothing to worry about because you did your best!!! Best of luck!

And how are things otherwise? Is DH doing ok?

Sending dust your way!

Sometimes, everything seems to come all at once. I'm sure you'll get through it all and come out on top at the interview.

Good luck on your presentation/interview! Sending lots of dust your way!!!

My condolences on your family's loss. :((

Dust for your family and for you! :))

Sending you tons of ***dust*** and good luck for your interview and condolences to you and your family on the death of your FIL.

:wavey: scorpioanne! how did the interview/presentation go??? When will you hear??? I hope all the PS dust worked for you :))

Hi everyone I have an update.
My family is doing well with my FIL's passing, I think it is because we have been living with his diagnosis for over 6 years and then saw him struggling at the end - it seemed like it was kinder to let him go than encourage him to keep on living like that. Of course DH typically doesn't share feelings and I am a social worker so want him to talk about them so I just have to trust that he is ok like he says he is.

As to the presentation and interview, they went well and I felt like I rocked it! I probably won't hear for about a month and they are interviewing another candidate on Monday but I have experience in the position and have taught for years as a sessional and the other two candidates have no teaching experience let alone experience in the role. Barring any issues coming out of the blue I think the position is mine, let's think positively!

Yup - think positively! I hope you get it! Congratulations on feeling good about it and "rocking" the interview! Fingers crossed for you!

My DH took his fathers death hard initially (it was expected due to age, but not when it happened) and then seemed to be managing. It was the 'anniversary' dates that were the hardest. Hoping all are managing to the best of their abilities.

Scorpioanne: my condolences to you and your family on your FIL's passing. Hopefully, your DH and his family can find some peace during this difficult time.

Congrats to you on rocking the interview!

Sending you love and dust. I wanted to offer my condolences about your FIL.

I really hope the job already has your name on it!!!

Thanks so much everyone! I appreciate being able to share the mixed expereinces I have been though and getting support. PSers are wonderful!
