So, I have to share with fellow jewelry lovers. My family would just tell me I'm nuts.
A few minutes ago, I decided to fix a seam in my favorite hoodie, which I've owned for a year now. I pulled out my "sewing kit" which is a basket with a hinged lid, that was overflowing with stuff. First I pulled out the white thread and needle, and did the job. Then I decided to just dump the basket and clean/condense the stuff inside. You know: buttons, ribbon, thread, pins, needles, etc. I did that, as I was condensing the boxes with the needles, I found something that's been missing for a year and a half. My diamond necklace!!!! It's precious to me, not only because it's a sparkly, but the stone came from my mom's ering. We lost mom with was 13, and eventually her ring, came to me and I reset it about 18 years ago.
This is the third time I've hidden/lost jewelry and found it months later. Why I would have put this in a box of needles, I have no idea. Doesn't seem like a good idea now. I have to get over this fear of being robbed (we've never been, knock on wood, but I know others who have been, though not recently, thank goodness.)
In the meantime, yay! I reset my studs into bezel settings just a couple months ago, so now they 'match' except that the necklace is yg, and the earrings are wg. Any one know how long it would take for a jeweler to rhodium place a necklace?
