*title meant to read dream ring IS here (can’t spell when I’m excited evidentially)*

Finally found my dream ring! After lots of searching hubby surprised me and we purchased this stunning 2.3ct radiant with around 1ct side stones! Obsessed is an understatement. It was previous appraised as a H VS2. Good cut, no fluorescence, very good polish, and good symmetry but I’m taking it tomorrow for a reappraisal. I plan on taking it to a local GIA certified gemologist for appraisal but toying with the idea of unmounting the diamond and sending into GIA. Is that necessary? I want to get this bad boy insured ASAP. Pics below. We have 3 weeks to return if necessary or if grading doesn’t match up or differs drastically. Also, any radiant cut aficionados can give me an idea on how it “looks” to the naked eye? I know that’s a loaded question as radiants are what you find appealing but boy this APPEALS to me so much :kiss2:

diamonds don't usually photograph well, so my guess is this ring is 10x more stunning IRL than it is in pictures. and it already looks pretty dang good in pics to me! congrats on your dream ring!

Congratulations on your ring! The 'bowtie' you are seeing appears to actually be obstruction and is reflecting black from the camera lens. Your camera lens will be more obstructive than you naturally looking on your diamond. Also usually we look at diamonds with two eyes, and so where one eye sees obstruction or darkness, the other sees bright light return. As such our viewing experience rarely looks like what the camera captures, unless you specifically try to look a certain way, with one eye shut.

Thank you for that info!! I’m new to the diamond world so that was very helpful!

Congrats on your ring, it’s really stunning! Love the coverage!

Welcome to the club, @Eelh77:wavey:

Looks amazing on your finger! Great coverage! Congratulations!!! :appl:

Aww congrats on finding your HG dream ring! Beautiful and elegant.

Great find! :))

I think it looks lovely - nice mix of light return and contrast patterns, no obvious inclusions, and some crisp faceting rather than 'mush'/'crushed ice' (which Rockdiamond will hate me for using :P lol).

You could buy an ASETscope to check out the light performance and cutting symmetry if you wanted, but equally, radiants, other fancy cuts and step cuts are all best evaluated while moving 'in real life' rather than in one position (AIUI), so it may not really be necessary!

Radiants are one of my favorites. Beautiful ring. Congrats!

I don't know anything about appraisals, but I'd be remiss to take the stones out of the setting and sent away.

:love:Your ring is beautiful!!! I love everything about it!

Blingtastic!
