Down to two princesses, which one would you choose?

Okay, I'm finally close to selecting which princess cut diamond to go with and would appreciate the opinions of fellow PSers.

I have been told that the first one, the G S1, is eye-clean and that the feather is on the pavilion and would be covered by the Legato Sleek Line setting which is my setting of choice.

I do plan on going to view these stones in person later this week.

Thanks!

My taste would tend towards the first one. The small table and the shape of the table makes it more appealing to me.
Even though the table is still relatively small on the second stone, it is almost square which is what I mostly seeing on stones
with big tables. That doesnt really appeal to me.

You can't really go wrong with either stone but my taste would be for the first one.

I'd go with the 2ct G/SI1 because it has better spread. The other one is beautiful too, but 78% depth is bordering on too deep for my tastes, and the G is 7mm square while the H is 6.7ish. Plus, I'd choose color over clarity in this size range provided both are eye-clean. I actually prefer the faceting pattern of the H but think the G is a better buy.

Thanks for the feedback. I've been leaning towards the G for the reasons you've provided and have it on reserve until Friday when I can inspect it. If the H is sold by then, my decision is that much easier.

I do like the whiter color of the G and the larger face size. Even though I've been told that the SI1 is eye clean, I'm still a little nervous and until this stone became available I was only looking for VS2 or better.

I've read where having a table smaller than 55% is less than ideal. The G diamond has a 54% table. Have any PSers ever heard of a table being too small on a princess cut diamond? What are the benfits of a small table versus a larger table and vice versa?

In my book there's no such thing as a table that's too small (within reason - no rose cut princesses, please!). In an ideal cut stone, a smaller table usually goes along with a higher crown, which creates more fire. So it's only bad if you don't like sparkle.
