I've heard of it. Sometimes people get a card or something in response. I don't really see the point of it though.

My friend set the framed pictures and letters on her reception/card table. It looked really nice! mickey and minnie signed a picture, the pres & mrs O signed a letter. Arnold sent a letter + signed pic.
