Okay, I''m on the east coast and can''t sleep. What better thing to do than get on here and catch up on my reading and "me time." I was thinking after responding to the "does your eternity band match your wedding ring" thread, if I look around my house, my rings appear to match my furniture! I love different textures. I try to get the best quality I can and I like to mix it up with different pieces. My house is bungalo style from the 40''s, with strong angular lines, but at the same time has a timeless front porch with swings and rockers (love the contrast of white wood with Pottery Barn woolen woven pillows in coral and turcoise-(traditional?) My living room sofas consist of a jean material L shape Pottery Barn (modern?) and another traditional more tapestry one. So, no wonder my set is traditional, with an added eternity band funky thing going on. So, I wonder if we are getting a sneak preview into people''s homes by looking at their rings. Does this apply to you?

Actually, yes, my original ring does. My original ring is a ruby in rose gold, my couch is from Ikea, and the weave on the cloth is orange and dark red. :)
Can''t sleep on the east coast either, FH just got up to go to work and I am now wide awake :)

I love orange and dark red, any reds, together. I just got a tablecloth today with those colors. Hope you get some sleep! We rearranged bedroom furniture today, and kicked up some dust-my asthma is making sleep really hard. I didn''t want to do the inhalor thing (hate how those things make you feel), so I did the home remedy thing by drinking a cup of strong black coffee. (I know which is worse?) Asthma is gone, but I''m wired! Oh well, I''m going to be a zombie at work today.

Do you have some turkey? That might help you go back to sleep?

You know, I''ve heard that...I wish I did. No, no turkey in the house. I may get a glass of warm milk or something... Now I have to crawl out from under Chihuahuas and cats and snoring husband...lol

Yes, yes, a hundred times yes. But I never thought of it until now!

My sofa is a distressed platinumy velvet ... low-slung with a dramatically tilted/rolled back. Def. a vintage look though it''s a modern Mitchell Gold from Anthropologie. I hope my new e-ring is as comfie ten years from now as this sofa is! (Though the cushions could use some x-tra stuffing .. uh ... i mean an upgrade!)

Decodelighted, this sounds absolutely exquisite!!! Anthropologie is one of my favorite stores, and their home line is just...stunning. The kind of items you expect to find in a beautiful brownstone or a delectable Cape cottage. I can see your Pap lounging on that sofa!

Well, the sofa came with the boy, but I helped pick it out... moss green chenille from Storehouse. It''s a classic with rolled arms and unfortunately lots of cat scratches. But the ring does match our house! My ring is sort of an art-deco/antique repro style with an oval diamond, some pave and sapphires... everybody that sees it says "wow, how unusual!" and I love it! Our house is a 1920s row-house, gutted and remodeled just last year... so a "repro" I suppose. It was an architect-designed remodel so it has lots of unique touches in construction, and several original features, plus our decorating style is very eclectic and bold. Lots of color, but homey at the same time. I definitely think it matches my ring!

hahaha well I have a funky old mine cut in a pretty but somewhat unusual setting... and I have a pretty unique couch - it''s a dania couch in a robin''s egg blue against "zen mist" green walls in a 1920 house with high gloss white moldings and lattice trimmed ceiling. I have several antiques in here and some fairly eclectic paintings and sculptures including a 3 foot bust of my head as a 4 year old that my dad the masters in art guy did back in the 70''s lol I daresay I mix modern and old in a funkadelic way JUST like my ring - and I''m NOT surprised! They both suit *me* :)

Hmmmm, interesting. At first I was like what sofa goes with a cushion LOL....

But I guess it does...

I have a modern cushion....
And my sofa is traditional but modern....

We have five sofa''s in our house, so my ring matches some but not others.

Our family room sofa is black and tan woven and HUGE (127") with a matching smaller sofa (still on back order darnit) that is 84" and my ring doesn''t match them at all. In our living room we have two antique sofas, one is sort of a bright pale green chenille-like fabric the other is covered in cream chenille-like fabric, I would say my ring matches those two quite nicely. In my office I have a fairly traditional sofa from the Room Source made of cream microfiber with a chaise on one side, my ring matches it fairly well also. In my husbands office there is another antique sofa covered in brown chenille-like fabric and my ring doesn''t match it, only because I hate the color so I don''t want to admit that it does!

My ring is nothing like my sofa. My ring is vintage inspired, and my couch is double stuffed black leather.
