Hi everyone!

I love princess cuts but have trouble finding a setting with V-prongs and one that would sit high enough to be reasonably flush. And I am hesitant to go with 4-prongs in fear of not protecting the corners enough. Custom setting of the style I`d like is way too expensive for me – about 1/3 of the diamond cost, so I really want to get a stock setting.

So I`m now considering getting the X-factor princess and then my setting dilemma would be solved as there is beautiful range out there (I love the Legato Sleek Line by WF) and my worry of chipping corners would be gone too.

My question is, does the X-prong face up similar to the princess or is the difference quite obvious?

Gladyskristen''s X-factor is a X-prong setting.

Chrono beat me to it (thanks C!). I prepared a graphic to show the girdle outline unmounted, and then mounted in our X prong.

No problem, John. I have no life beyond PS.

Thank You John and Chrono!

I must say the X-factor looks beautiful but I still think I prefer the sharp corners of a princess as unpractical as they are.

Princess it will be then!
