I'm a bit bored and I was thinking about our wedding bands. I'm a huge fan of channel set gems so I've been thinking of a wedding band with a bit of bling to it. My original thoughts were along the lines of either round diamonds or baguettes, but I came across this lovely ring on signedpieces this evening. I love rubies plus they're my birthstone, but I'm not sure if this would work with my e-ring? What do you guys think?

My e-ring:

the ring fits much better from that pic as I had just jammed my ring finger. ow.

ETA: oh and my favorite plain band that I've seen is the signedpieces comfort fit, probably in 3mm:

Hey Indie ..

I just love the antique style band with your ring (in my head at least!) so I voted for that ... but i have to say ... I have been OBSESSED with Jennifer Garner''s pink diamond channel set band (especially paired with her stacking plain band & eternity band) ... maybe a solid ruby channel set band would have a similar look. I can''t get behind the alternating diamond ruby thing. That always looks so "busy" to me. Do you still like me?

Because I like you. Okay. Stop me. I saw BORAT last weekend and I can''t stop quoting it.

This one just screamed out at me. All the bands are beautiful...but this one gets my vote!!

The antique style does match my e-ring the best... and he''d love the price. But it''s a tiny bit ho-hum to me. Maybe if it was all sapphire or ruby? Sapphire was popular in that era and it has the symbolic meaning of loyalty and faithfulness.

Truthfully, the wedding band I''ve always wanted would look very odd next to my antique e-ring.

I desperately yearn after a mokume gane wedding band. It''s the combination of the symbolism of two different metals swirled together, the ancient history of the art, and the fact that I''m a hopeless Japanphile.

Although I''m pretty sure I''d hear strangled choking noises from my fi if I told him I wanted a wedding band about 1/2 the cost of my e-ring!

I love that style so much that I''m planning on trying to talk mister ''I don''t wanna wear jewelry'' into having a mokume gane band as his wedding ring!

I voted for the antique because I''m a fan of more matchy sets. The best thing you can do is of course to try some on.

this one gets my vote too!

Indie, maybe a mokume gane band is in your future as a RHR!!!
