I wasnt sure where to post if because its a natural ruby but a lab diamond so i didnt know if it was allowed in SMTB

The ruby is natural no heat Mozambique 2.06 ct, graded deep red. I got it from StarRuby. Harshil is great, very communicative (I mean, as best you can with the time difference). I would buy from him again. He posts ridiculously high prices and then you make him an offer and he is very open ... i paid 70% off what he posted it for.

I really wanted unheated and i really didnt want to spend a lot... so this was the best i could do. I actually love it, it's mostly a deep purply red, but my samsung occasionally makes it look pink which it never does by my eyes.

The diamond is a 3ct lab antique step cut from Alex Parks. I posted about it on the lab board but I actually bought a 2 carat more rectangle shape for this project, but my best friend's fiancé begged me to have it so i let him buy it from me and i went back to Alex and bought the 3 ct more square. I was terrified it would be too big but it really doesnt look terrible... i think the 3 carat doesn't overwhelm the ruby... however, my original plan was to wear it the way David posted it but with the diamond being bigger I have been wearing it with the diamond on the bottom.

This was my inspiration for the ring an Edwardian tiara ring, and then i asked David to do it with the step cut instead of the round and add the black around the bezel to make it look more antique inspired.

I absolutely hate bezel set (sorry to all who love them!!) so we added the prongs so i would accept a bezel LOL!





...aaaaand so there you have it! My bad descriptions, and David and Amy's magic! They always seem to be able to do exactly what i ask with very poor instruction from me... hahaha

Holy Smokes that's gorgeous!! The Bezel (ish!) and those claw prongs!! I know you said you don't like bezels (I really do ) but I love how your blackened bezel really accentuates the shape of the Assher. I have an Assher three stone that I was going to sell before I had DK reset it in bezels.
