Does setting a stone into a bezel make the color look darker

I am looking at my different options and trying to really come up with my forever setting (I know, so dangerous to say that out loud lol). I have an emerald cut stone and I go back and forth between different settings and milgrain bezel vs claw prongs vs deco style tabs. I would really love some opinions on how a bezel may affect the look of an I color stone? Thank you! Going to try to attach a photo of my stone as well here In the next post. thanks!

It would depend on how well/poorly cut the stone is. All diamonds benefit more from an open setting. If well cut, then it is not likely to be affected by an enclosed style or bezel setting. Step cuts require thorough cleaning to look their best so I shy away from a style of setting that makes cleaning a challenge.
