Does GOG evaluate purchased stones they did not sell?

I have two stones on hand that I'd like to get more detailed reports on -- specifically, a Sarin or Helium, but can't find anyone local to me (SF Bay Area) that does it.

I'm going to be in New York in the next few weeks and am trying to find someone in Manhattan that can do a Sarin or Helium report for these two stones so I can determine how tightly cut they are.

I've become increasingly impressed with the level of tests that Jon at GOG is capable of since purchasing my diamonds. Does anyone know if he'd be willing (for a fee) to evaluate my two diamonds? I'd be willing to drive out there to have him examine them, if so.

What you need is an appraiser.

In Nor Cal. Nancy Stacy might be able to help you. As well as Erik or Maya at Joe Escobar in Campbell. In NY David Wolfe might be able to help you.

Unfortunately, Nancy Stacy doesn't have a Sarin, Helium or OGI. Looking at the PS list, no one here seems to have one.

Good call on Joe Escobar! I just talked to them and they do have a Sarin. I REALLY like them over there. I had them earmarked as my local bench and this probably seals the deal.

They are my jeweler as well.

There is a decent bench at Spitz in Walnut Creek too. They do a great platinum polish. Charge you for it, but they get a mirror shine.

Just got back from Joe Escobar. I have the Sarin in hand and they were kind enough to also run the diamond through their H&A viewer.

I was truly, sincerely impressed by how well I was treated and how friendly they are. Their reputation on here, combined with my experience, clinches the deal for me. This is my future, local bench!
