Does anyone wear a partial denture?

I have a tooth missing at the top back right of my mouth. I also need the tooth next to it removed. I really can't afford dental implants so a partial denture is the way to go.

Does anyone else wear one? How does it feel? Do they move around? I am worried I will laugh and lose my teeth!

My mom wore a partial for years for a front tooth and my brother wears one for a few front teeth. My mom never had an issue with hers but my brother can't eat with his in and when he laughs it moves. I don't know if it's just a fit thing or the amount of weight (ie teeth) that it has. These devices have metal that hooks onto the back teeth. I'm not familiar with a partial for back teeth and I don't know where it would attach. With any dental work, GET REFERENCES!! Then get a consult. Good luck!

I was born without canine teeth and wore a partial denture for a couple of years in my teens. It was fine - couldnt feel it and it never slipped out. Absolutely no problems, for me anyway.
