Does anyone have eternity bands from both WF and IDJ?

Can you compare the quality?

I'm having a really hard time deciding between the two. IDJ is cheaper, but my e-ring is from white flash and I'm happy with it. I assume both companies have a "no return" policy on eternity bands. My fiance is worried I'm going to get the IDJ ring and be unhappy with the quality because the price is so much cheaper and "you get what you pay for."

Any opinions? TIA

What type of band are you looking for? And what's the price difference?
WF and IDJ have different niche markets - I think in general you get what you pay for, and the exceptions require exceptional circumstances (and I'll be honest, I don't believe posting on PS merits the "exceptional circumstance" badge with either vendor!)...

I will assume that the diamonds in the eternity band will be small and will use the melee collection of each vendor. It is my understanding that WF will use their ACA melee's, not graded of course because they are so small, but cut to that standard for WF. I don't know what kind of stones IDJ is using. Perhaps this explains the difference in price.

I would go with WF. Higher quality stones. There have been problems with IDJ stones not being eyeclean. I think WF workmanship is better, too.

I am waiting on an eternity band to be delivered but I went thru your dilemma. In the end I decided that the WF stones would be perfection and I knew I would be happy while the IDJ might not turn out as well as I hoped. IDJ has a 30 day return policy. WF is custom making mine with yg so it is not returnable but a stock item may be.

I posted these pics a few months ago - these are one-pointers from WF!!

I'm getting an eternity band too, and I chose WF for both stone quality and guarantee of setting quality. Apparently it's eternity season on here ::)

Have you discussed your budget with WF, or did you simply ask for a quote. I've found that by stating my budget up front, vendors are able to make alternative suggestions, making it less necessary to sacrifice quality and still end up with a quality piece within your budget.

I have a 15pt WF shared prong eternity band which I adore:

Well, WF will be using aca diamonds for the eternity (a smaller version of the annette u-prong) and IDJ will be using SI stones (u-prong as well), both in platnium. WF said the ring will be about 1.5 ct and IDJ about 1.4 ct, so that also accounts for the price difference. I don't know if it's appropriate to actually say the quotes, but they are about $1k different.

With WF I *know* I'm getting perfection, but I'd be willing to try out IDJ based on great reviews here if I knew I could return if I wasn't happy, so maybe I should inquire about that.

With WF I wouldnt say you get perfection from every stone in the ring.. Or even all H&A stones. Some will have nice arrows but some will fall short. Nice clean stones though. I have no idea about IDJ..

As long as you are getting white gold it will probably be a stock item and a 30 day return. If you have the time, try it.

Bumping...

Calisteph, wondering what you decided and whether you're happy with your choice?

I just ordered a 2ct eternity with 10 pointers from IDJ. I'm really hoping I love it. I will say that for me the price was right and in my budget so I'm happy with my choice. I will let you know how my ring looks once I receive it.
