Hi guys,

DH & I ate out yesterday and tried something new to us -- lamb shepherd's pie. The flavor kind of blew me away. I love lamb, but never would think to try ground lamb with mashed potatoes. And a twig of rosemary on top :P

I tired googling recipes, but didn't find one with a ton of positive reviews (to my surprise). I kind of want a tried and true recipe, so I thought I'd ask here. If you have a favorite recipe for this dish, would you mind sharing?

Cheers!

P.S. I'm so excited about the future potential lamb shepherd's pie, I already ordered a meat grinder :cheeky:

**i didn't notice you got a meat grinder ;)
Happy shepherds pie making!

Whoohoo!! Thanks! The meat grinder arrived today ($24 on amazon, great reviews, I hope it works!), so I think I'll be trying one of these recipes this weekend :appl:

How exciting! Let us know how the meat grinder and pie making goes!

Yay! You can make all kinds of fun things with a meat grinder! If you like lamb, you should try making Ćevapčići <tchev-op-chi-chi> or <tchev-op> for short. The town I live in has a lot of Croatians and Serbians and our local butcher (who is Croatian) sells Ćevapčići, and they are delightful. They're little casing-less sausages. The ones he makes are beef and lamb, but I think that pork and lamb are also common. They're usually grilled or pan-fried and served on flatbread with farmers cheese or creamy garlic sauce (at least that's how I've seen them served). They're delicious and really unusual and fun to serve.

Also, if I had a meat grinder, I would go crazy making savory meat pies!
