Hello all LIW..

I''m not too sure if anyone else is having this problem but for the last few nights all i do is dream about rings!
emteeth.gif

I wake up with numbers and percentages and angles in my head!! I see pave bands and plain bands and channel set bands...

Round diamonds.. emerald cut diamonds... it is all i can think about!

When i am at work.. i can hardly work because all i want to do is look at the pricescope forums!

It is starting to drive me crazy!

Is anyone else having this ''problem?''

I confess... I am addicted.
Every now and then I try to stay away for a few days running...
Just to prove I have a life...

I used to dream about rings, but not in the same way. I would dream that FF would propose, and something would be wrong with the ring. It''d be ugly, or diamonds would fall out, or I''d lose it because it was too big.

I haven''t had one in a while, but I used to wake up so upset with FF because he bought an ugly ring!

I''ve had an ugly ring dream, but I think I woke up laughing about it.

When I first found ps I was completely addicted too. Now, I still come here pretty much everyday, but I''ve stopped "making" my dream ring constantly. I''d go to the various recommended dealer sites and search for my perfect diamond and price it together with my favorite settings. I''ll even go so far as finding a perfect diamond in various price ranges because I''m not exactly sure what SO''s budget is going to be. Obsessed? YES! But, I think I''ve calmed down a bit on that since realizing that I''m going to have a very long wait. I was starting to think about it ALL the time!

Good luck with your addiction. PS anonymous anyone?

Ha - I''ve had a few...in fact, one last night! They''re always bad kind, with my bf proposing with rings that are the complete opposite of my taste. Last night''s he proposed with a SIZE 3 ring! (I''m a 6). In my dream he knew it was way too small, but got it anyways b/c Mark at ERD had it available immediately lol.

I don''t dream about rings, but I''ve found that I''m always looking at women''s ring fingers now. I work in an upscale shopping center, so I see tons of large rings...some of them are big just to be big (the ugly diamonds), but sometimes I see the most gorgeous rings. I love it!

I do, all the fricken time!

I''m not having dreams yet, but I do find myself surfing Pricescope at work! (We have a very lax work environment.) My male co-workers tease me when I''m staring at the computer and say "Is she ring shopping again?" I find myself staring at women''s hands too, but I''m not around enough women to see anyone''s rings from a reasonable distance.

Oh my gosh, I had an ugly ring dream a few weeks ago and thought I was losing my mind for having such a ridiculous dream!!! So glad others are in the same boat.

And gryffindor, re: ringshopping at work, my bf told me that he opened a ring link I sent him (I sneak them in emails! haha) and one of his female co-workers saw and started oohing and aahing. He was so embarrassed.

haha! i actually daydream about e-rings and i too find myself checking out other women''s rings. the only dream i''ve had about an e-ring was years ago when i was with an ex-boyfriend. in the dream, he presented me with a ring that was just hideous...i remember it clearly: dark murkey diamond cluster style in yellow gold that looked more like bronze than gold. despite the ring being the complete opposite of what i like, i told him that i loved it because he gave it to me. =)

I''ve never had a real dream about e-rings, but I spend the majority of my time thinking about them. I''ll go to class with my pen and paper, ready to learn and take notes - and by the time class is over I have managed to take 0 notes, but have 30 sketches of my dream ring (which FF and I have already determined and already have a great sketch of - but since it doesn''t "exist," I can''t look at pictures of it... so I just draw them and then do my daydreaming :) I dare not bring my laptop to class, because then I''d NEVER get any work done. I haven''t been much of a "poster" (until very very recently), but lurking is my specialty. PS Anonymous, here I come!

I''ve also got to admit that I''ve written down the dimensions of the diamonds FF and I have [casually] looked at, and then cut out little circles of paper with those dimensions and taped them on top of my promise ring, walking around my house, "showing" everyone (and by everyone, I mean the dust bunny in the corner and my reflection in the mirror) my new, beautiful e-ring. Yea... I play pretend.............. so?!?!?!!?

Yes, I''ve had several dreams about rings! You are not alone. And as far as PS goes...........I''m horribly addicted. I''m sure you see me posting ALL DAY long it seems. I can''t keep myself away. But, I don''t care, at least I admit it. I do stay away in the evenings and on weekends. It keeps me going through the day. lol! Although, sometimes it drives me a little crazy too..

Oh, that just cracks me up!!! (Although I did draw a .5 carat diamond on a band of some certain thickness because I was curious about how big the diamond would look in comparison to the band.) Hey, we might as well enjoy our wait, right?!

O...M...G...I had one last night. WORST DREAM EVER. Not only was the ring UGLY but the proposal was terrible.

--sets the scene--

Audball in the bathroom, yes, on the toilet, in walks Mr. Audball. Mr. Audball sets something that looks very much like a ring box on the counter and a piece of notebook paper folded in half next to it. Mr. Audball says, "Go on, read it." Audball asks for just a few minutes and tells Mr. Audball that she promises to read it in just a minute. Mr. Audball looks terribly crushed that Audball is cramping his style when trying to propose but obliges and steps out with box and paper in hand. Audball emerges (admittedly terrified) and is handed the paper again. Mr. Audball has written many things, none of which were romantic (but were inside nuances or ours that could have been incorporated but in a much better way, trying to be funny and failing is worse than just sticking with romantic in my book) and it didn't look terribly thought out as there were many things scratched through and crossed out. When Audball finished reading the paper she looks up at Mr. Audball who hands her the box. She opens it to find something that may be okay if executed properly but horrid the way it was done. The center stone was a diamond in a six prong setting but was on a VERY wide band and had side stones surrounding the whole center stone. The sidestones were all gemstones of different colors and types with no meaning behind them and, get this, all set in six prong mounts. Yes, so the 10ish mm ring has 6 smaller gemstones all mounted in 6 prongs as high as the center stone also set in 6 prongs. It was a mess of prongs, a horrible proposal, and just bad. Mr. Audball never asked 'the question', never got down on one knee, and after 'opening the box' just assumed it was a done deal.

--end scene--

So this morning I tell Mr. Audball about my dream and he laughs hysterically. He swears that would never happen but that I really shouldn't have cramped his style, he was trying to propose afterall

. My goofball.

ETA: Wow this is longer than I thought it would be...

Oh, Audball, that''s too funny!!!

I actually had another one last night too, but not nearly as dramatic or detailed as yours! He just handed me an "okay" ring. The center stone was a diamond, but the band was covered in pink sapphires. I was terribly disappointed! Now, don''t get me wrong. I LOVE pink sapphires, and I''d love to have a sapphire ring someday. But, it''s not what I''m personally hoping for as far as an engagement ring. I remember trying to look happy about my new ring, reminding myself that who cares WHAT it looks llike, I''m gettin'' married!!! LOL

Ah, dreams. I must have spent too much time on here yesterday!

I think the oddness of the style was mostly from having read all Musey''s DB Mickey Mouse Engagement rings and threads related to her brother''s fiance. Too much PS for me I think....my BF is convinced that even if he lets me choose my ring exactly (which he''s not keen on) that I''ll love it for a little while and change my mind a few months later when I find something else new...

I had to bring this topic back because I had my first e-ring nightmare this morning.
32.gif

In my dream, I was apparently at my wedding. It was a very patchworked, last minute type of affair, and I realized that FF had never actually proposed to me and I really wanted to wear my e-ring to the wedding. My brother and I confronted FF, he gave some weak excuse of why he planning to do it the following week b/c his mom said she would give us something at that time. I said "Just let me wear it today." and he told me where it was. I opened the box only to find a very large Zuni inlay ring (made by the Zuni tribe people and found in the southwest states) and a pair of matching cuff links. Apparently the jeweler had switched boxes. My brother and I started getting riled up that the people who ordered this stuff must have my diamond and now they are going to make out with a "free" diamond. A few days later, the jeweler asked us if we wanted to start looking again at I colored stones. The jeweler finally confronted the other people and although they hesitated, they returned my ring.

The mistaken ring looked similar to this except it had more colors in it:

Just this week I had an ering nightmare! I dreamt that my SO proposed, but when I took a close look at the ring the setting was all crooked! And in my dream I wasn''t sure whether to tell SO because I didn''t want him to feel bad LOL

I think we''ve all had "hideous ring" dreams! I wonder what I psychologist would say about all of us...

I feel like I live, breath and dream rings.
However, more so when I should be doing something else.
I.e. I have a major assignment due the next day - I waste time looking at pictures of sparkly rings.

Good to know I am not alone!

I''ve had ring dreams. They''re more ring stress dreams then anything. In then the ring is really ugly or starts falling appart of somthing. Once, in the dream, my boy friend had asked Brad pit to propose on television to me on his behalf....and the ring was awful!

My ring is at the jewlers at the moment and I''ve been stressing out about it. I''ve always had the suspision since I was little that If you take expensive daimond jewlery to the jewlers they''ll secretly swap the daimonds for fakes before you get them back..... Yep, I''m crazy.

You are too funny hawaiianorangetree. I have nightmares that my SO is going to get me a ring that doesn''t sparkle! I recently asked him if he knows all there is to know about diamonds... table... depth... etc... I almost wish i never found pricescope which educated me on diamonds!

Well ladies... i am glad to see that i am not the only crazy LIW out there!!!!
emsmile.gif

My last dream just a few nights ago was about looking at the evaluation certificate and instead of it saying $34000, it was $3400!!

I''ve also started ring watching on the train... every girl that gets on i stare down their left hand to see if there''s a ring on it and then try not to stare too much during the trip while i try and work out the details!! lol

Ha...when I thought a proposal was coming in the near future, I used to dream of him proposing with rings that really weren''t my taste. Not fun.

Wow, so I''m not a total nutter?! I do the same thing on the very very looong bus rides home from uni every day, I sit in a window seat and perv into the cars down below to spy on womens rings. And I can stare as much as I like because they can''t se me......and then their car is replaced by another one and the process starts again.

My bf thinks I''m crazy.

The funny thing is, the more I know about daimonds from this site, the more I stress dream about the ring being dead and awful looking. Ignorance is bliss.

I am so glad that I am not the only one. I am currently job hunting so I''ll look up jobs online and have another window of e-rings. I feel so much better.

I''m married and I still dream about rings!

My heart broke when I couldn''t find the perfect pear... and I still dream about it. I think that''s my 10 year ann gift. At least that is the seed that I have planted, and water often.
