Do you watch Teen Mom? What advice would you give to Farrah?

I watch this show, and I see so much of myself in her. I feel like I went through a lot of what she went through, from her parents forbidding her to talk to her boyfriend, Farrah's anger at her parents (ok, I grew out of that one,) the loss she feels from her boyfriend's death, the awesome relationship she had with him which then turned really bad, her sadness-how she still cries when she thinks about his death, and her romanticizing the relationship, and feeling like no one is going to measure up to him.

This post prompted by a date/friend who told me I should consider seeing a psychologist. Which was  and   at the same time.

I haven't been watching Teen Mom but I saw her episode on 16 and pregnant. I'm not sure what advice I would give her-that is a really tough situation. I would probably tell her to stop being on TV and in magazines though!

ETA Julie I am sorry you went through a lot of that

I think you have to feel the feelings. Grief is so complicated. It is filled with anger, sadness, frustration, depression, hopelessness...People need a *safe* place to explore and deal with all of the feelings that can take you hostage. For most people that is through some form (group or individual) of therapy. I think Farrah has been through a lot. While she is in no way a victim, she has contributed to her circumstances, she can learn to let go of her resentment towards her parents and sadness towards her BF. Happiness is an inside job.

JulieN, if you think counseling could help you, you should explore that.
