among your friends and relatives?.

Even though my collection is not that big, I would have to say yes...everyone with the exception of my grandmother (my grandfather loved diamonds and gave her quite a collection), but other than that none of my relatives or friends are that into jewelry and think I''m a little nuts for how much I love it!

Nope!

No.

yes, at least I am fairly certain I do not that I have a collection per say.

well if you count my vintage watch collection....possibly. No one else around me really cares that much!

No.

Get a safety deposit box.. That''s my PSA for today. You never know who is reading this, be safe!!!!!

Yes, if you don''t count my mom

But among my friends, I do - mostly because we''re all students and I''m the only one with a deep love of jewelry, and the time to pursue these projects (or rather, I make the time! haha)

Nope... My mother in law has me beat. LOL, when ever anyone says my one and half is big I tell them, "You should she my mother in law''s!".
She has some great stuff- my favorite is a oval shaped ruby ring with a diamond eternity style band on it *drool!*

No. Anyone who has a decent sized diamond is ahead of me!

for years ...yes in size of collection and variety of pieces...but my sister recently surpassed me in number of true important pieces!...and good for her!

I''d sure hope not.

I''ve never really thought about it, but possibly. I know a lot of women with bigger, more expensive engagement rings but that is their only piece of ''real jewellery''. I have a simple wedding ring, but also RHR rings, quite a few pairs of diamond earrings (my addiction), pendants, bracelets, a designer watch and some Tiffany silver pieces.

Yesh.

Mine LOOKS like it cost a small fortune..but we all know I am great at finding ALOT of bling, for not alot of $$.
Friends have purchased smaller, lower clarity, diamond rings, and paid much more than I did for my solitaire. So..NO, I don't have the most expensive collection..but if people want to think I do..well..I'll just have to let them!!

Probably. And it is in a safety deposit box.

Happy New Year, Harriet! I could always use a goddaughter!

A happy new year to you too, godmother!

Just among my husband''s family alone, I rank 3 out of 4 in the jewelry department. His mother has many heirloom pieces, and my SIL (his brother''s wife) has bigger and more expensive everything. I will be at the bottom when his sister inherits everything from his mom. Oh well.

Ditto this. In some ways, it seems almost like self-selection ... anybody posting to Pricescope will probably be an afficianado, and, as such, more invested (no pun intended) then then rest of the population.

2nd! At times it''s best to be humble in a thread. Also, what if a lurker here does know a member (yet that member has no idea that other person reads PS) and the lurker reads the posts where the member is bragging about all their jewelry being better quality than friends/family??? So many people here talk about how much they love diamonds to family/friends and surely at least a few have googled diamond boards. On an entirely different website I''ve asked diamond questions and always the first recommendation is read here on PS. We''re not in an isolated bubble.

I think I do own the most expensive diamonds appraised, but I have "diamond slummed" creating pieces from ebay and pawn shop finds, so I may not have PAID the most! For the most part I keep it in the safety deposit at the bank, just in case, but at some point I will take everything out so I can post in the "show us your collection" thread.

With my friends the same age, yes. But with my relatives and older friends, no.

Haha, with my half carat? Not even close!
