I am finding that I am obsessing over the placement of prongs on studs and pendants.

Maybe it''s my inherent symmetry issue, but I have seen some stones and thought "Hummm, those prongs aren''t set that round correctly"

Is it because I am seeing the table or arrows up close in photos? Is is really obvious in person at normal distance that prongs may be set haphazardly in connection with the arrows or the table of the RB?

Am I crazy? (In the diamond prong sense...the overall sense is already debatable"

I don''t know about the placement of prongs since my ring is bezel set, but I was obsessed with how the diamond was placed in the setting in regards to the facet placement. I made sure the triangular facets were facing the 12, 3, 6, and 9 o''clock position, if you know what I mean. It drives me crazy when the facets don''t line up!

Oh thank goodness I'm not the only one. When I see close ups of studs and I can see that the prongs aren't set in the same orientation to the stone on both, I notice it immediately. It's wierd. I don't understand it. I feel like I need to draw a picture to make sure mine are set a certain way. Maybe I am OCD?

I dont' want to post pics of what I am seeing, because I don't want to offend the person who owns the stud or the piece. I wish I was familiar with the terminology so I could better express myself. I just looked at a martini set stud and I could immediately see that the top prong was not set in relation to the facets and table on the stone. It's mind thing. I guess I need to start drawing pictures...UGH. I can't even draw stick figures.
