Do you have a "song" for each other?

We have been together for 7yrs and we never had a song for just us. I know there are songs that we like that maybe could be ours but we never found one that is us/ours.

I have a song that I have for my DH...

DH has a song for our daughter and i agree with his choice:

Do any PSers out there have A song for themselves/kids that they are willing to share- perhaps their wedding dance song?

thanx

Greg

Well....we got married just before Valentine's Day (our 12 year anniversary is on Sunday), so *our* song is "Valentine" by Martina McBride. It was our first dance song at our wedding. I still love it to this day!

Your thread got me thinking Greg! I don't think we have a song... It's never occurred to me! Now it's bothering me!

We actually do have a song for each other. A few years ago my dh's business colleague gave us a homemade CD of sort of obscure holiday songs and this song was on it. It really resonated with us and became "our" song. It's called "The Perfect Gift" by Natalie Hemby. Love this song. This is really how we feel about each other.

Hubby and I never really had a song for one another, and we'd been together one day shy of 10 years when we got married. I struggled to find the right song to walk down the aisle to, and after a lengthy search, we finally have our song.

OMG manderz- I love this song! We also walked down the wedding aisle to it actually but to another version. I love the version you linked here!

How funny! I think it's such a beautiful song. I liked that it kind of bridged the gap between really traditional, in that her only accompaniment was the piano, and really out there songs. The ub40 version was popular when I was pretty young, but just starting to have my own taste in music. I've always loved it.

I did all the searching for a song to walk down the aisle to, and this was the first one I showed him. He thought it was perfect, and didn't even want to hear any others!

Don't need to worry. It seems that ppl have certain songs for things and others don't. Would it matter that you don't have a song? Only if it bothers you to absolutely must have one. You never had one so why begin worrying that u don't have one? Things have gone well without one. You guys are comfortable that things are going well and the mere thought of a song is just that : a thought.

We never had one and still don't. So all is good.

Just the other day FI told me that every time he hears Akon feat. Snoop Dogg, "I Wanna Love You" it reminds him of when we first started dating... Uhhhh... Not exactly what you would consider romantic. Especially since thats the clean radio version...

He claimed that it is because the song was popular and on the radio a lot then, and he would hear it when he was driving to my house to pick me up for dates. Ermmm.... Eewww

My husband and I never had a song, really, until a friend sent us Jonathan Coulton's "Code Monkey". We met at Microsoft, under nearly the exact circumstances described in the song. I soon encouraged him to find a job he liked better, and now a couple of jobs later, he has his dream job and me, so it all worked out. :D
