Heyy everyone!

I could really use some help!!

I purchased this dress about a month ago, but since I saw I got a good look at it online, I have really been panicking. I really do not love my dress.... it is just "ok." I think I may even hate it. I''m locked into the purchase (all sales are final, and a down payment had been made) so that is not up for debate. I bought it in the heat of the moment I guess you can say, I was with my mom and I really had no intention of buying, I just wanted to look, but they were having a sale and I got 50% off, so i bought it!

It is similar to the idea i had for a dress but i feel it is not executed the way I would have liked.

I feel TOTALLY ridiculous, but I have been looking at dressed again, and want to buy another one, but my dress had a hefty price tag (for my financial position) and I dont feel like it would be appropriate to buy another.

I would truly love to have your honest opinions on the dress. Don''t worry, I realize that everyone has different taste. I would really like your honest reaction to the gown. You can tell me that you hate it, you love it, you think it is just OK, or any combination thereof.

Thanks for any input you might have for me!!

Something like this is more what I had in mind

I actually think your dress is stunning! The fabric is beautiful. It looks very similar to the dress my SIL wore to her wedding a few months ago, and everyone went CRAZY for it.

I love the neckline of the dress...it seems that almost everyone does stapless nowadays, so it''s nice to see something a little different. BUT (and I''m not a seamstress so I have no idea if this is even possible) maybe you could have this dress altered into a stapless top, which would give you more of the look of the second dress???

I''m not such a huge fan of the second dress you like...it''s kind of ordinary and definitly not as "special."

well I think the dress has a lot going on it. And it seems to me that the there''s a lot of different types of bead work going on. I prefer the second dress you have pictures (although I can''t see it that well).

But I am naturally partial to strapless, so probably not much help.

Honestly, if you aren''t in love with it and can afford to get another one, that''s what I would do. But wait a while and see if it grows on you. And I think you should also wait until you have it and try it on again. Sometimes online is deceptive. I hate my dress online, but loved it on me. So I just don''t look at it online anymore!

Good luck with your decision.

I think it is gorgeous, too! I think strapless will be dated eventually, but the dress you bought is more classic in design.

I actually really like the dress - the neckline is very pretty. But if dress #2 was what you were imagining, then i am sure that your dress could be altered to a strapless sweetheart neckline. I would not buy another gown, unless you think you can resell yours maybe on www.preownedweddingdresses.com or ebay? If you don''t think you can resell, then why don''t you have it altered? i had a girlfriend in college who had a very pretty dress, but she didn''t love the top. Right before the wedding a seamstress cut the top off and made it strapless, and it was gorgeous!

Nani, PLEASE don''t change that gorgeous dress! I love it so much! The two dresses are pretty similar except for the neckline...and the neckline is my absolute favorite part of the first dress! Strapless dresses are so overdone these days. I really regret getting one myself. Please keep your beautiful dress as is!

I love it! I love all the details in the fabric. If you really wanted- you could probably have a seamstress make the top into a strapless no? It would be a sweetheart strapless but gorgeous!

I think that is a gorgeous dress, particularly the neckline, as several other ladies have pointed out already. It looks like it would be very flattering.

I think the dress is beautiful!

why not make your dress strapless? it''s stunning, and i think you could really make it work.

I agree, the dress you got is BEAUTIFUL! Very classic and wonderful. Strapless is being way overdone and I don''t think you''ll regret this choice when the photos come back.

Hate it?? No way, I think it''s a stunning dress.

I think the dress is gorgeous, but you have to love it. I think you have a few options. Try to sell the dress and recover some of your loses and start again. Wear the dress and try to love it (which I don''t think is the best one) or ask a dressmaker to alter the neckline if possible.

Good luck!

The first dress is really pretty, and I don''t think you can go wrong there. That said, see if you can alter it to look more like your ''dream'' dress.

Also, the second dress was my first runner-up dress. The scallopy lace is so gorgeous and really looks much different and better in person than the stock picture.

I think it''s pretty. I love the top.

Well, I think its pretty, but my opinion doesn''t really matter here - yours does. If you hate it, you will never be happy, and I really can''t advise strongly enough against having that kind of regret. I know you''ve already put down a deposit, but you could either try to sell this dress, or you could call and plead with the bridal store, see if they will let you use the deposit towards another dress. On the other hand, if this is just buyers'' remorse, it really is a pretty dress and I can see a lovely bride wearing it.

Let us know what you decide, and good luck.

I think your dress is gorgeous, but it''s so hard to decide about a dress unless you see it on a person. Do you have any pictures of you in it?

How do you feel when you wear the dress? Do you feel like it is flattering to you, and you just don''t love the style when you look at it?

If you don''t feel good in the dress, then maybe it''s time to start looking into selling it so you can have other options. Although, the dresses I''ve loved online looked terrible on me, so maybe if you went and tried on the strapless one, you would hate it on you and be happy with your dress again?!?

I LOVE it! Its beautiful~!

dresses look totally different on you than in pics....how did you feel when you had it on? thats what matters....it is a beautiful dress.

I happen to think it's a gorgeous dress - much like something I'm planning on looking for. One of the big differences I notice is the strapless/not strapless, as others have mentioned. If you really wanted strapless, have the top altered - should be fairly simple and I think would look great. But I for one am not planning on strapless as I agree that it's way overdone and I hate tugging on my dress for hours. So I still think the dress you purchased looks awesome with the top it has.

A second difference I notice is the patterns. I realize both dresses have similar beading/floral patterns allover, but the dress you purchased makes the dress almost have the two-piece look (to a small extent), just due to the horizontal line at the hips made by the beading. This seems to me to cut the dress in half more so than the strapless picture you posted. It is still not a bad look at all - it just gives it more of a "tank top" look to me when I examine the differences. I just mention this because you say yours is not "executed" the way you imagined, so maybe this contributes to that? But by itself, I hardly think this is noticeable on your dress. I only see it when comparing the two.

Only other thing I notice is the model's shoes... I think they are waaaaaay too much for the dress. And I think in this particular picture it kind of ruins the effect of all the beautiful beading on the dress - the shoes are very distracting to me. Try to picture it without the shoes, or maybe photoshop them out and see if that makes any difference to you. I know it would make a huge one to me.

Hope this helps a little - I think the dress you have is spectacular!

(And for 50% off!!!)

ETA: I went back and looked at the picture again - on your dress, just cover up the horizontal line at the hips with your finger or something as you look at it - that makes the dress look COMPLETELY different to me. Much more like your second posted one. I think that makes the biggest difference. It has a much more cohesive and continual look without that dividing line.

I think in the photo, the appliques are way overdone.

However, I''ve learned from experience that the appliques in the photo almost NEVER look that dramatic in real life. Most designers have the contrast pumped up to show the detail, and in real life the details (especially appliques) are far more subtle. I thought my dress looked absolutely GAUDY in the designer photos... so much so that when I tried it on in the store, I had no idea it was the dress I had went "EWgaudy" to three days earlier! I bought it, then went home and looked up the picture and I said "it was THAT dress?!"

So basically, I don''t like the picture. But I think it will look far more subtle and lovely in real life, and just look like you''re sparkling all over!

Hello everyone!!!

Thank you so much! I really did love the dress in person and I felt like it was perfect! It was only online that I felt it was not what I had wanted.

Thank you everyone!!! You all made me feel a lot better about my choice!!! many of you reminded me that dressed look much different in person and that applique''s can look over done in pictures. I feel that the neckline is part of the reason I liked the dress ,even though it was not what I wanted, because it was different and I like to be different.

I agree with the shoes comment too, the shoes are too much for that dress and I will definately not be wearing shoes that have so much going on. I also thank you all for reminding me that the dress looked much different on me!

Overall thank you soo much to all you ladies who assured me that I had made a good choice! Im going to stop looking at the online picture, and when i go make a payment ask if I can try the dress on again and take picture of myself in the dress and look at those insted!!

This post really made my day

Hate? Oh HELL Naw! That dress is TOOO Classy and elegant to give up on it! Like many of the ladies have said, it is timeless/ non-trendy. I think most women have a moment of wondering if they bought the right dress. I don''t think you''re crazy for wondering if you made the right decision, but IMHO a dress like that with such beautiful and delicate detail, will look gorgeous on any bride!
