Never a big fan. Too pricey and food a rip off. Never could find the perfect seat and hated people sitting next to me fighting over arm rest or in front of me obscuring view. Also folks just being rude with electronic devices, talking, kicking seats and throwing food and stuff on the floor. Plus got spoiled with vhs/dvd. Love the pause option at home to go to kitchen, toilet or rewind to catch missed dialogue. Don’t need big screen to make a movie watchable.

Not until we see how Covid goes over the next year or so at minimum no. We were very rare movie goers anyway. I think we went to a movie maybe once a year? Once because a friend of ours wanted to watch our kid and once when the inlaws visited a month after she was born and they told us to go out. We pretty much watch Netflix or Google Play movies anyway. Microwave popcorn is just as good as theater popcorn lol. Don't really feel i need to go out to watch a movie. Its just nice once in awhile.

We might at some point. I found a theater that is 21 and up only and reserved seating. We don't go to any sort of busy openings or anything. We enjoy going when it is pretty empty. Usually, that means watching for a showing that is nearly empty an hour before start time then buying tickets for the section no one usually sits in. I can do that from my phone on the way there so I can make sure we aren't sitting near anyone. The food is good and with the $10/month club fees, we get a free ticket each month plus 10% (20?) off food and drinks. Since we only go every few months, the tickets are "free" so we just pay for the food & drinks. The food is about the same price as dinner out at an average diner in the area so not expensive compared to other eating out options. (Plus it is better food than the other options in that lower price range.)

Until I found that theater last year, we went to the movies once every 5-10 years.

ETA: The seats are big and cushy and recline. Everything has always been clean when we were there. Food served hot or cold as appropriate. Just really comfortable and nice!

Most likely no. I'd willingly pay to stream brand new movies at home if it was an option. Putting on pants to physically go to the theater, park, walk in, previews... all so annoying. The last time we took my son to the movies, we spent almost $100 between reclining seats ($20 ea. even for matinee) icee, popcorn, and a bavarian pretzel that ended up being 5x bigger than expected, but I really wanted to watch Spiderman, lol.

No, I’m sorry to say it but I’ll never go back to the cinema.
It isn’t just Covid that is the problem, it’s the lack of security.

I really don't like movie theaters, tending to avoid them as they're too cold for me, and, I have no desire sitting next to strangers (that was even before all of this!) . I do however, like the drive in! (the ones here have been plenty busy)

I'm not the right person to ask since I hate going to the theaters; Too noisy, too dirty, too crowded, and too cold.

We probably will. Hubby loves the theatre. Of course with Clorox wipes in hand.

We are looking forward to Maverick being released in theatres.

I enjoy movies in theaters but honestly haven't been in years. Somehow we never work our schedule to include a few hours for a movie. There are easier ways to see them at home now but I do love the sound and sight of the big screen.

When it opens I will go as often as before...which at most was a few times a year. I don't like the experience much myself, but if friends and/or family are going I will sometimes join them if it's a movie I want to see.

I voted 9, as in "probably never." The traditional theaters here are filthy, there have been reports of bedbugs, and the risk just isn't worth the reward. We still have drive-ins, though, and they've done well during this time. They have a system for restroom use and sanitization, visiting concessions, and maintaining social distance by limiting capacity to 50%. If you're lucky enough to live near one, take advantage!

I'd love to!

I was just talking about this with my family! The last movie I went to see was Knives Out at a newly remodeled theater with super comfy heated seats. I was prepared to really enjoy my time but then there were ladies on my right who kept talking loudly to each other through the movie. A few rows ahead, young children kept coming in and out. I said to my DH right then and there that after that movie I was done and would take the comforts of my own home any day over the theater “experience” such as it is. I always felt awful after eating the popcorn and don’t drink soda. However, I did enjoy taking my kids when they were small to $6 Tuesdays as a surprise after school sometimes. Let’s face it, movie theaters were never the cleanest places to begin with, so it’s a bit of an uphill climb for them if they want to try to figure it out in the age of CV. I just re-watched Knives Out at home since it’s on Prime and we all really preferred the experience at home.

I love the experience of it! Try to always go when I am on holiday (usually same place) they have a wonderful small Art Deco theatre, fully restored and locally supported & run. I go there to help keep it running.
