Do these prongs look secure? They look so small to me.
This is a custom made ring by Tianyu (moissanite & ring mfg.).
I've had it sitting in my bureau for a while waiting to eventually be engaged... but now I'm second guessing the setting.
I like the stone, I'm just afraid I'll lose it if the settings & prongs aren't secure enough...
Thank you in advance!

I think it’s probably tough to tell just from the photos, so maybe the better question is, does the stone feel secure? If you are worried about it, you could always have the prongs checked by a local jeweler. I have two rings with similar prongs to that. One I have had no issues with. The other, the prongs did loosen a bit after several years of daily wear. I could tell because the stone shifted (it’s a round stone), but I still don’t believe I was in danger of losing it, and truly that was on me for not getting the prongs checked regularly. I believe you are supposed to have them checked yearly or so as part of regular maintenance.

Bbk0885- I think they feel secure. It doesn’t move around at all. I guess I would really need to take it in. I just have bad experiences with jewelers being rude or unfriendly because it’s a moissanite it’s really turned me off from ever stepping foot into another jeweler.

Ugh, yeah, I can see what you mean. You might not have to mention it just to get the prongs checked (and I doubt they’d be able to tell). As long as they say the prongs are fine, they may not need to be the wiser. Obviously any jeweler whose was going to work on it would need to know. Or perhaps you could call around ahead of time and find someone friendly to moissanite so you don’t have to deal with anyone rude. I feel like moissanite is getting so popular, jewelers are going to have to get with the program sooner or later.
