Do AGS certs need GIA certs also?

I talked to a jeweler today who seemed to know a lot about hearts and arrows super ideals but he insisted that a diamond purchased from an internet vendor should have a GIA cert as well as AGS. He said the AGS is only good for the cut and it should always be accompanied by a GIA cert as well. Any thoughts? Thanks

Huh? AGS has a reputation for fairly tight standards. You definitely don't need two certs.

p.s. An AGS diamond quality report is more than sufficient...and normally right on!
