My mom just called me and was raving about a DJ that she wants to book for both my wedding and my sister''s bat mitzvah. And guess what! It''s the same DJ I really wanted to get but thought was over our budget! He came down in price for my mom when she told him she wanted him to do both events. I''m so excited! She''s going to call and book him for both as soon as she runs it by my dad. Yay!

Mine''s going to cost about $850 for him to do the ceremony and the reception. Definitely not the cheapest, but I went to HS w/ him and I''ve been hearing good things since then (he''s had his own business since he was a freshman in HS), and girls on the knot rave about him. Yay!

The photographer part stressed me out the most. I''m so glad that''s taken care of.

Way to work the bulk discount!!! That''s awesome!!! Tell her to try that on any other applicable vendors too! I''ve never been to a bat mitzvah before, but I''m assuming there are some flowers? Catering? hmmm....

Congrats on the fab DJ! That''s awesome! My mom is looking for one now but I''m a little nervous because my rodeo-countrified-neice keeps telling her all these country songs she wants him to play at our wedding and FI is having a panic attack! He''s more of a new-wave, indie, even disco fan, and has threatened to veto any country music besides Johnny Cash and Willie Nelson. I did get him to approve Tim McGraw because "he''s liberal" and I think some of his songs are appopriate. FI is going to have to deal with some country music, our wedding is in East Texas! We want the guests to dance!

Unfortunately I think that''s the last vendor that my sister has to book. She''s having her bat mitzvah at the holiday inn, which we looked at for my wedding, but my mom had the tasting for the bat mitzvah and didn''t like the food so we went elsewhere. My sister''s not having a photographer, but is having a videographer. My mom showed me some sample videos and they were awful! I don''t know what was going on in my parents heads, but I am definitely not booking that guy. I think I might have a friend (who does videography and editing professionally, just not wedding stuff) who''s going to do it for a good price. I''m pretty sure my sister''s centerpieces are included with her package and I don''t know if she''s going to have other flowers. I''m probably going to make both of our invites. I can''t think of anything else we''ll both be using. If we''d both been having it at the same place I bet we could''ve gotten a good deal, but I love my place and she''s happy with hers.
