I am planning on a trip to disneyland for the family this October,,, and I have only been to disneyland once in my entire almost 30 years...

so here is a question for you seasoned disneyland goers. I want to stay inside disnyeland.. but which hotel pros? cons?? I don''t need the one with the grand spa or anything just the one that will be kid friendly and most easily accessible for an infant and a 4 year naps will be necessary... Also do you recommend just buying the pass altogether or just pay at the gate. or is there somewhere I can find some discounted tickets. We''ll be driving in, as its only about 6 hours for us, and we''d like to have our car anyways... My SIL and her family will also be coming but they will be coming in from another state. Is this too soon for me to book or should I wait? thanks all!

hmmm.. maybe I need to post in the Family and Home forum...

Hi D&T
The one you want is the Disneyland Hotel if you want a Disney hotel. There are lots of other hotels in the area, but they are not Disney owned. The Grand Californian is a bit fancier and more $$$.

I''d go with the disneyland hotel too. I would book early-sometimes if you check around you can get great deals thru costco or different venues like travel sites.

DisneyLAND or DisneyWORLD?

I''ve been to Disney World, but not Disney Land.

Feral- Disneyland- CA, I''ll plan a trip to Disneywold once my kiddos are a bit older, and will definitely need help then too

Thanks guys- I''ll check into the Disneyland Hotel, probably try to book it within the next two weeks then.

Check the Disney website - they''ve been offering some crazy good deals lately on hotel and park packages. :)

Hi D&T

Disneyland is a blast! - I could ride Pirates of the Carribean for hours!

I know you want to stay in the park, and I hope you can get an excellent package deal!

If that turns out to be prohibitively expensive, try the Best western Park Place Inn - it''s right across the street from the entrance to Disneyland and DCA. It''s not the ritz, but at the end of the day we were so grateful for the very short walk home! (check google maps). We also came home mid-day for lunch, a swim and hot tub and a nap)

The best western free breakfast... you get what you pay for. (There''s an ihop near by) The Captain kidd''s buffet is actually not too bad!

October shouldn''t be too bad for lines, but if you want to minimise wait times, I recommend Ridemax software we used it on our trip and it was great (Calculates an itinerary for you so you can ride your desired rides in an order that has the shortest wait times - very cool!).

Multiday park passes are great for seeing both DCA and Disneyland, and you can have early entry some mornings too!

I''m pretty sure disney has a kid swap option for many of the scarier rides - Everyone lines up, and one adult rides while the other watches the kids, and vice versa.

Also "expired" fast passes will still be accepted until the end of the day - so don''t worry too much about showing up after the time frame they give you.

Be ready for the bag searches at the entrance to the park - They don''t allow any glass bottles in the park (nooo! my ice tea!). It''s a bit of a pain, but it keeps folks from bringing in big bottles of vodka and handguns.

The churros are the most affordable and delicious snack IMHO.

The live aladdin show at DCA is definitely worth seeing (If it''s still playing and you have time).

Have an excellent time!

Thanks Erica, and HD for the write up, I''ll definitely be taking those advice.

Hi, I don''t have a hotel recommendation, but I want to say if you get a chance to go on Mr. Toad''s Wild Ride, please do! That''s my favorite ride! Have fun!
