I apologize if I am not posting under the correct section. A reliable source has informed me that a reputable local jeweler has switched a diamond that was being reset as a pendant. The woman who owns the stone has filed a formal grievance. My question is, if this complaint is valid and the jeweler did switch stones; will this be public information? I actually went to this "reputable" dealer looking for my engagement ring. I think consumers have the right to know if an allegation like this is proven to be true.

wow! if it does become something you''re able to publicize please do as it''s something i''d be interested in reading about. thx

Reminds me of that Diane Sawyer expose where she caught a jeweler changing out an elderly lady''s diamond. Does anyone remember that show? It has haunted me for years. I guess that is why I always want inscribed diamonds.

Yes I totally remeber that show. The diamond was supposedly switched at three out of five of the stores they went to! Nightmares!!

I guess what I want to know is how does a consumer know if a jeweler has been found guilty of scamming customers. Where would one go to find this information? Maybe the local better business bureau?
