Did your work get you a Christmas present this year?

We got Christmas Eve off with pay.

$50 GC to a box store that is one of our customers for all 400+ employees

Where I work we don''t get bonuses. From the department I work at I got $600 on a CC gift card.

I work for a major corporation so they don''t do gifts. My department plays "White Elephant" so that''ll be the extent of my gift this year (here''s hoping I get a good one! lol)

I''m not sure if we''re getting a bonus this year or not.

Nothing from our firm yet.

But the other law firms and medical providers we work with .. tons and tons of goodies have been delivered! Chocolate covered pretzels, rum cake, coffee cake, peanut brittle, cookies, the list goes on and on .. oh yeah, and STEAK

We should be receiving a Christmas bonus within the next week. We also have a Christmas party at one of the lawyer''s house on the 23rd.

This year the only days we are getting off as of right now are Dec. 24 & 25, Dec 31 & Jan 1, because we have a big trial on Jan. 4. Usually they''d give us a whole week off. Stupid trial

No. I guess I have a job 1-1-2010... so I guess that is my bonus.

no bonus and no raise this year. We''re getting a 1/2 day on Christmas Eve and NY Eve days. DH just got an all expenses paid trip to Santa Monica last week (just for fun with work, no working required) and gets the week off between Christmas and NY.

I get a turkey. Its our annual present from corporate.

However, we do have a big bash just for our facility at the bowling alley which is a lot of fun (and work since i''m a manager) but then all of the department managers have a nice lunch at a restaurant next week where we do a gift exchange, cookie exchange, and white elephant type swap where all of the gifts are from our boss and are holiday decorations. then we get the afternoon off.

$100 cash. Our yearly bonuses are figured in March.

Half day on Christmas Eve with meal provided. Catered. That should be pretty good.

For the last two christmases...No bonus, raise, gift, party, christmas card or letter to the employees for a job well done...nothing.

I''m a SAHM, and as a self-employed individual who is in charge, "my company" got me a new pair of shoes, jeans and a bottle of bliss body cream! Yah! Can''t ask for a more thoughtful boss

Last year my boss gave me a bar of soap. I imagine I''ll get something equivalent this year.

Haha--last year my employers gave me a gift bag with lotion/foot balm/lip gloss. Like you, I''m not holding my breath for anything better this year. Silver lining, though, is that I don''t have to worry about spending much on them, or anyone else at my office.

We have a few parties - as a member of the management team I wind up attending a half dozen events with lots of yummy food and treats. My Big Boss usually gets me a wine or music themed gift as those are my two passions. I reciprocate in a similar manner. My staff gives lots of treats - fudge, cookies and coffee have begun appearing in my office this week

Bonuses, if given, are not until February/March. Raises, if we are allowed an increase this year, are not given until May/June when we have our yearly staff reviews. Everything at my company is performance driven - you have to achieve a certain rating on your yearly performance review to qualify for a salary increase.

My dh''s company does the White Elephant too. He wasn''t going to participate.

I know it''s crazy that he quit his job right before the holidays and when so many are out of work. It''s just that they treated him horribly and he''s lucky that he can go back to his previous line of working making about what the same. We just won''t have dental insurance anymore

It''s still going to be a tight squeeze as always. All I care about is having some savings for retirement.

We get a week off with pay. It includes Christmas Day and New Years Day, but all the other days are paid by the company. Which is nice. We also get a couple of parties. Three this year, but I'm skipping out on one.

We got a bonus and a turkey. I work in a nursing home and the families also bring in goodies :)

One of my reps just brought in a bottle of Chardonnay for me.

Let the presents roll in.

Same. The University had a little party with some free food but I only stayed about 30 minutes, it was too crowded. Apparently the department does a "holiday party" in February once things have calmed down a bit at a local bar/restaurant and provides a bunch of finger foods and beer so that should be interesting.

I told SO that there would be a holiday party with all my coworkers in February (keep in mind I am by FAR the youngest person in the department) and this was the conversation:

Me: So there''s a holiday party at (said local restaurant) in February
SO: Oh... yeah you can go to that one by yourself...
Me: WHAT youre not going to come with me!?!? But there''s free beer...
SO: Oh alright you''ve convinced me, I''ll go.

Good to know what''s important to him haha.

Wow, HH! An all expenses paid trip sounds awesome! I think having the week between Christmas and NY''s off should be a given. I realize that not everyone celebrates Christmas, but I''ve never known anyone to get a lot accomplished during that week.

I got... a cookie!

At least it was a good cookie. And it''s more than I''ve gotten any other year.

No, but I got a lot of great gift cards from my students!

My former employer (a public high school) used to give us some sort of Christmas trinket each year--a Santa ornament, a little Santa Claus, a felt reindeer, etc. I always found that to be very interesting coming from a public school.

I work in a nursing home, too! What is it with nursing homes and turkeys? Any chance you work for a big corporate chain??

My students and their parents typically give gifts -- usually candy, ornaments, lotions (odd gift, I''ve always thought), gift cards, a few mugs, and other random things.

Other than that, we just have the standard vacation week (or 1.5 weeks) between Christmas and NY off.

I got a gift card to Barnes & Noble from my boss (just a personal gift--very sweet of her).

Otherwise, DH and I are both getting nada from work. In the good ol'' days, big bonuses, hefty raises, and generous gifts were de rigeur at his Big Law firm--now he gets no bonus, his salary is frozen, and there isn''t even a holiday party. Bah humbug.
