Did Tiffany change the solitaire setting?

Query - has Tiffany''s changed its solitaire setting style over the years? I did not recall in the past that it had such a strong knife edge. I have tried searching through these forums and through Google images and can only find the current style. Am I wrong, or was it different in the past? Maybe I wasn''t really paying close attention in the past.

I always wondered if they were always as high too.
In my mind the 4 prong versions must have resulted in millions of chipped girdles

I remember reading at one time how the solitaire setting was a bit different (not prong wise) but as far as I remember it was like hundred or so years ago.
