I hope Diamonds in the Web will become our tradition. We have many great candidates.

I would like to say thank you for the awesome pin it is an honor to be included in that group :}

I would also like to thank those that have taught me so much here without others sharing that they have learned I would not know what I know today.
I learn something new everyday here.
I hope I can keep the tradition alive by passing it on to others.

Than you leonid for creating this site and giving us the opportunity to learn and grow and help others.

Just wanted to suggest lizzyD...she really puts some time and research into her responses.

Keep it real! Love the site!

PS sure has grown leaps and bounds since I first posted here a few years ago...it was much quieter then with less boards/forums within the larger forum...and half of the people who posted back then are no longer around! A typical post got about 7 average responses. It''s amazing to me now to see posts with hundreds of responses to them and thousands of views!

It''s always interesting to see a board grow and shape itself into what it will be for the future...it''s been so much fun to hang out here these past few years and further the diamond obsessions within myself and of course within others...

As always, thanks to Leonid for giving us this fabulous place to speak our minds and ask our questions...my favorite part is the assistance of others...even if it''s just giving my opinion

...but I LOVE finding stones for people too....aka what would *I* buy with that money. Personal shopper! And of course it would be nothing without the great experts, Garry, Richard, Dave and others who give their time and their effort to helping consumers choose their sparkly baubles. Love the technical knowledge.

I echo those sentiments would like to add that, there are some pricescopers here who have shown themselves to be as ideal as any gem here can be.

Thanks Leonid! Congratulations to all the Diamonds in the Web. Is there an updated list here somewhere?

I nominate sevens-one. For many many reasons!

I second the nomination for sevens-one!!

I second the nomination for sevens-one!!
She's not an Ideal Rock yet?????

Me three!

Oh yes, she is ideal...in many ways including being an ideal rock. But, she is not one of the diamonds in the webs....that is what I was nominating her for.....

Speaking of which...I am nominating Jennifer5973 too! Also a excellent participator and knowledge sharer...along with having an incredible collection of bling!

ETA: Okay--I'll admit...i had ONE margarita tonight at the taco place...but I think I am a diamond in the web!

I am confused, though--I think Leonid should put the complete list somewhere.

To me sevens one is the Ideal candidate. She is always offering great advice and has a sense of humor that just doesn't quit. She is an amazing person and has a true passion for jewelry. She has helped me in more ways than I can say, she's the best!!!! I love how she is always helping the newbies and is there for anyone that needs a little encouragement. Nan is true blue in my book!!

HI:

Agreed with the 7''s/1 nomination!! BTW there was a thread about 6 months ago, regarding DITW awardees.

cheers--Sharon

Yes, I think the list should be updated. There''s many more who have been added and seeing their names up there in the DIW page would be giving them proper credit.

Ok- just read the thread from last year....so Jennifer5973 is a DITW (congrats!), but I still am putting sevensone up there for pinhood!

Here are my nominations. I do not think they are DITW yet, but I am not sure
2.gif

I have always found the posts left by these individuals to be thoughtful, helpful, humorous (at appropriate times), and informative:

sevens one

Daniela

phoenixgirl

cflutist

websailor

Also, I couldn''t find whether or not tomatoe is already a DITW. If she isn''t, then I would also like to nominate her.

Got to say... everyone i can think of who should be on that list... already is...

just a note & not a commentary on *anyone* who has been recommended. IMHO, DITW are people contribiute to helping newbies find their ring of dreams.

Hmmm..... I just reread the page about Diamonds in the Web, and I think that I would still vote for the same people.
Here are some quotes from the page:

"We decided to create the "Diamond in the Web" pin to acknowledge those who have helped and supported lots of new diamond buyers in our Community."
"We want to start a new tradition and add more great people from all over the web to this list for their contribution, enlightenment, inspirations, affecting others."

I guess that my interpretation of a DITW may be too broad?
28.gif
I tend to think of "new diamond buyers" as those who are looking to purchase a diamond as well as those who have received or just purchased a diamond. I think that people looking to purchase a diamond are in need of help, enlightenment, and inspiration. And I think that people who have recently gotten a diamond are in need of support and contribution.

tomatoe - inspiration - She diligently updates the the Eye Candy thread, which is an amazing spot for newbies to find what type of diamond they might like to buy.

sevens one - support - She is quite often one of the quickest posters to offer emotional support as well as digital photo help to newbies and not-so-newbies alike. She also gives informed opinions in the Rocky Talky and Diamond Hangout.

Daniela - enlightenment - When I first became a ps''er, she was very helpful in answering some of my early questions. Her posts are informative and well spoken. From what I have seen, she has been a great asset to the ps community.

phoenixgirl - help - Another person who made an impression in my early ps days. She frequently posts helpful advice and opinions in Rocky Talky.

cflutist and websailor - contribution - A dynamic duo who constantly contribute inspiring pictures of their beautiful diamonds, life insights, suggestions to guys who just bought e-rings and want proposal ideas, answers to diamond questions, etc.

35.gif
Just thought I would further explain why these posters were some of the first names that popped into my head when I was thinking about who I would suggest as a good candidate to receive the DITW honor.

BTW, I do think it may be time for some new pinnings! It''s been a year.

Buena Girl,

BLUSH!
20.gif
Thanks for the kind words!

Just as a BTW - I agree with all your nominations and the reasons why.

==============================

I''ve been hesitating about posting here, but since I am anyway, I''ll add what I''ve been thinking.

I would nominate cflutist - obviously I am prejudiced here, so my "vote" should not be counted. However, regardless of what I think, cflutist does post quite a few things that are helpful to others and that directly answer questions people ask. I think she has put quite a bit of effort into broadening the education aspects in posts and providing sources for people to use.

From what I have observed (threads, PMs, e-mail exchanges) and talked with her about, she clearly fits into the criteria - "for their contribution, enlightenment, inspirations, affecting others."

I second the nomination for cflutist. She is always helpful, and very knowledgeable and a nice person as well!!

So, just wondering, should the nomination only be limited to those who have the knowledge about the technical aspect (numbers crunching, recommending stones, etc) of finding a stone/ring? Or does it also include sharing personal experiences and inspiration, offering up pictures of different setting styles and/or ideas also?

Leonid, can you please clarify this so the guidelines for nominations are clear to all?

Thanks!

Kmom,

Go to the link that Leonid posted in his very first post. I grabbed a piece of it and bolded the last sentences that I think answers this question:

Quote

I would like to express my deep gratitude to all the members of our community. Without all your ''voices'' no online price comparison or tutorial Pricescope would not be what it is today.

We decided to create the "Diamond in the Web" pin to acknowledge those who have helped and supported lots of new diamond buyers in our Community. For us people are the true diamonds in the web :) The first two dozens are listed on the left in order of registration date.

We want to start a new tradition and add more great people from all over the web to this list for their contribution, enlightenment, inspirations, affecting others.

End Quote

Thanks for highlighting that for me WS. I'm glad that all who inspire can be considered.

7s1, Jenn and Cflutist would all get my nomination as well. There are actually many more, too, who deserve to be nominated.

Hi Leonid, would you care to share who the new members are to this elite list?

A few days ago my daughter said that she''d like to get a small pendant or charm to wear daily. I showed her my "diamond in the web" pendant and she loved it. I am letting her borrow it for now until she gets something herself. She wore it on a black t-shirt out to dinner a couple of nights ago and I couldn''t get over how pretty it looked on the black background.

Thanks Leonid!
