I don't know if this is the proper forum or not but I'm interested in a necklace - diamonds by the yard. They used to be very popular but I don't know if they are as popular these days as they used to be. I've found one with .75 tcw of ideal cut diamonds for $1495 from Whiteflash and I saw one on ebay from Amore Diamonds with 1.65 tcw and they say that their diamonds are ideal cut as well but for that tcw, their price is $1800. Has anyone heard of Amore Diamonds before? Both pieces were in 18k gold. They say that they are in the diamond district in NYC for 30 years. Thanks for any help.

I've never heard of Amore before and nothing comes up in the search.

Yeah, I did a search too and I couldn't find anything. They do have a 7 day return policy though but I didn't know if they could advertise ideal cut diamonds and then the diamonds not be ideal cut. I'm pretty new at buying diamonds - as you can tell.

The diamonds are not certified so who is labeling them as ideal and what is their definition of ideal? Whiteflash uses their
ACA stones for their DBTYs. I'm not saying that the other one is not nice but ??? As long as you can order and return if
not happy...

for diamonds that small - they're going to shimmer rather than all-out sparkle anyway, 'superideal' or no. ACA's might glitter slightly more *powerfully*, but in these sizes I honestly doubt the difference will make a big difference... If the eBay one comes with a good (clearly stated) return policy I'd give it a chance - if you don't like it you can always return it. I think the bigger issue is going to be workmanship; as long as the diamonds aren't horribly included I think they'll shimmer plenty.
