Diamond wedding band for with OEC solitaire...

I had always had it set in my mind to have a solitaire and either 1/2, 3/4, or full eternity. During my search for my upgrade, I feel in love with a 1.79 OEC diamond. I now have the diamond on layaway and am 99% sure that I still want to set it in a solitaire setting, but now I am concerned with the eternity band that I will be using for my wedding band. The more I think about it, the more I am becoming concerned about what diamonds to use. Originally I was going to get an eternity band with RB diamonds that match the color of my OEC, but now I am concerned that the difference between the RBs in the eternity band and my OEC engagement ring will be too noticeable. I am looking at having the diamonds be between 10-15 pointers.

Do you think that the difference in diamonds will be noticeable? Any suggestions for my eternity band?

Thanks!!!!

Would really love to see your ring for the full effect, but if I had an OEC I would most likely pair it with either an OEC eternity band, or if you want to mix it up, a band of french cuts set in different ways. Check out some pics.

First pic is of the many band choices available at Singlestone. They do amazing work!

I also love this band. I think it would be fun to mix up the shapes!

Thanks for the responses and suggestions, Dani. I don't have the ring yet, so unfortunately I do not have pictures of the exact ring. :((

It is 1.79 ct L VS2, 7.85x7.86x4.71

This is the setting I am looking at.

I think I will send singlestone an email and see about the costs of the rings. I do like the idea of mixing up the bands. Hopefully they won't hurt my bank account too much! Lol.

I have a Modified Julia solitaire, and I think you would best be served by a curved band. A straight band will not sit flush and will scratch / wear on the curved swoops.

I agree that an OEC band will probably look best with your gorgeous OEC stone. I could be wrong, but I think that modern rb stones would compete with the beauty of the OEC.

I'd definitely get one of the antique style bands. I think the smaller the stones the better (less than 10 pointers) so it won't take away from your e-ring. Beverley K makes these styles of bands as well. I do not like curved bands and would rather wear a thin plain spacer ring between the two rings if necessary. Your diamond is beautiful! I'd definitely wait until you have it and then try on some bands just to get an idea of size, etc. before ordering something.

OMG, your ring is going to be amazing!! I love that stone!!! I agree with diamondseeker- get your ring and then look at bands. Even though Singlestone's things are gorgeous, I know they can be on the pricey side. So maybe you would want to look at the Beverely K bands as well (Pearlman's sells them).
Make sure you post pics of your finished ring!! So excited for you!!! :appl: :appl: :appl:

I'd ask GOG if they will sell their AVC melee in 10 point size (I think that's a good size with your band) and have JBEG make a matching band for you with them.

Thank you for the suggestions, I think I will wait until I have the ring to shop around for a wedding band. I guess I am just getting impatient while paying off the diamond, so I started nosing around for settings and bands. 8)

And then I started snooping around at settings even more and found this one that I love too.....
http://www.victorcanera.com/the-sophia-french-cut-solitaire-with-round-brilliant.html

So now I have to decide if I want the simplicity versatility of having a solitaire and being able to switch out and mix up the wedding bands, or if I want that Victor Canera beauty!

I am kind of uneasy about curved bands, but I understand why you are suggesting one. Do you have a band yet? If so, could I see pics with your Julia solitaire? Plus I kind of just want to see your ring :naughty: I love that setting!

Thanks, I think the diamond is beautiful too! I am definitely going to get a spacer, I was thinking of getting the platinum version of the one Dreamer posted about the other day, I love that one!
