Awhile back @Vesper posted in the Royal Jewels thread about Empress Elizabeth and the diamond stars she wore in her hair and I thought “Holy schnikes! Why aren’t we all walking around covered in diamond stars?!”
So when this Victorian brooch became available I snatched it up! I may have to wear it in my hair at some point
It was originally silver topped gold, but a more recent owner had rhodium plated. It’s a little shinier than I prefer and I hope that fades over time.
The center stone is such a chunky monkey.
It looks like it was stamped, but is completely illegible now.
Some of the side stones have really, really tiny tables.
It is curved instead of flat. I wonder why it was made this way?
