Diamond ring or diamond bracelet? I can't decide...

While we're talking about hypotheticals... which would you rather have? Assuming both are the same price:

an 8 carat total weight round and baguette F color / VS1 clarity tennis bracelet

-or-

a diamond solitaire ring, E-F color / VS1/2 clarity

I am thinking for a 10 year anniversary gift. We still have a little ways to go but I've been pricing both and cannot, for the life of me, decide.

My stone shape choice is a pear, but if you hate pears, but would choose a ring over a bracelet, don't let that influence your decision. I'm focusing more on "would you choose a bracelet or a ring." I will wear both equally, for what it's worth. Photos as examples, only.

Depends on how many rings I have. RIght now, I have more rings than I know what to do with (a meager 3, but I only have 2 hands), so I'd probably do the bracelet. Except...I don't love wearing bracelets.

btw choosing between those two, I have to say I like that bracelet!

I, too have too many rings. I have 4. BUT... 3 are RHRs and I should mention that I currently wear a 5-stone wedding band and have done so with the intention of getting a new solitaire upgraded e-ring. My original e-ring was pear-shaped and I absolutely loved that ring. It is now in a pendant. So, if I added a ring, it would be worn with my wedding band and would negate the too many rings problem.

I like both the bracelet and ring and can't choose.... I vacillate between them and feel so convinced one moment and totally confused the next. Did I mention I'm a Gemini?

I adore pears, and I wear rings a heck of a lot more than I wear bracelets, so for me, the choice would be clear! Bracelets almost always make me feel overdressed, which is ironic, since I usually *am* overdressed: but whereas a vintage 1950s frock with a full crinoline doesn't make me feel in the slightest inappropriate, somehow even the simplest bangle can make me feel overdone. It might be just a weird quirk ... but, hey, that explains my vote!

I adore the bracelet! :appl: :appl: :appl:

I want it, if you decide against it!

Hey . . . .wait a minute. . . :Up_to_something:

That bracelet makes you look fat :naughty:

bracelet!

Do you already have a nice E-ring? If so I'd go with bracelet, but if the Pear ring is going to be 'THE' ring, then I'd definitely get the ring. I'm not a bracelet person at all. Never worn a watch either.

The ring, no question about it!

I'm thinking now that it's a matter of "which first." :naughty:

bracelet!

Definitely the ring.

I would choose the ring!

The ring!

Well, how big are you thinking for the ring?

Also, are you a bracelet person? I can't wear bracelets - I wear a watch on one wrist and I write/type so much that I can't wear a bracelet most of the time on the other wrist. But if you think you'd get a lot of wear out of it, it would definitely be worth it.

But I'm biased - I'm a total ring person :)

What a funny girl you are, iLander! I wish i'd thought of that!

Bracelet for me, no-brainer. My wedding ring is similar. It's not your usual ho hum, sigh, boring diamond bracelet that we all have  ; it's stunning. I do not like pears at all but you promised it doesn't disqualify me.

if it were up to me, ring. b/c i would wear a beautiful solitaire daily but a full diamond bracelet would only feel appropriate for more dressy occasions (which currently i don't have many of). that's my $.02!

I would choose the ring. I am very hard on bracelets, and I just have a soft spot for rings. Especially pears!!
