Diamond Recycling project...... NEED HELP/IDEAS!

Well since I was about 5 I knew eventually I would be inheriting a bracelet from my paternal grandmother's collection. She passed back in February and I was finally given the piece today. It is.... well.... "dated" to say the least. Two of the diamonds were studs of my great grandmothers... my grandfather took those and bought 18 more diamonds and had this piece created special for my grandmother circa 1981. I would like to take all 20 diamonds, scrap the gold for money towards the project... and create a necklace. Unfortunately I do not know where to begin. All inspiration would be appreciated.

Here is the.... very interesting bracelet. I have been told they are all real diamonds of surprisingly good quality. They estimate them in the f-g range and will have a better idea of quality once they are out of the settings.

The gold is so overwhelming.... but I should be about to get about $500 for it for my project.
