After much research over the past few months, I finally decided to expand my budget to buy a "near" 1.5 carat diamond. I was picky- I wanted a near ideal cut, SI1 (best clarity for my money) and an F or G stone (I will set in a white gold setting with side diamonds). After much research and actually sending a GSI1 stone back to the vendor (when I got the sarin, it was terrible on the HCA) I think I have decided on the following:
GIA report with Sarin attached:
F SI1
1.41 carat
7.14x7.18x4.43
Table 57%
Depth 61.9%
Crown angle 34.6
Pav angle 40.7
culet 0.6
polish very good
symmetry good
The online vendor has obtained the stone, examined it under the loupe and states it is gorgeous and absolutely eye clean.
The HCA rating is all excellent except spread which shows very good.
The price $8230.
Is this a good purchase?
