So i already bought the diamond and gave it to her.... but because of how I am always second guessing myself on everything I figured i get some opinions if I purchased a good one. My only concern is just the Cut being "Very Good" i compared it to some diamonds that were Excellent but i could not tell a difference at all. To me the thing i could spot right away was the Color which is why i went with E.

The good news is..... she loves it :)

Round Brilliant
Carat Weight: 1.01
Color: E
Clarity: VS2
Cut: Very Good
Total Depth: 60.0%
Table Size: 59%
Crown Angle: 33.0
Pavilion Angle: 40.6
Girdle: Medium to Slightly Thick, Faceted 4.0%
Polish: Excellent
Symmetry: Very Good

Thank you

What lab graded it?

It scores well on the HCA (1.2) so it definitely has potential. The next step would have been to get an idealscope image.

It is a 60/60 stone: https://www.pricescope.com/wiki/diamonds/60-60-proportioned-diamond

That's not a bad thing, just a different flavor than a more traditionally cut ideal stone. The shallower crown angle will likely result in less fire (colored light return) but will be nice and bright (white light return).

The VG on cut may just be because the VG polish prevented it from receiving a higher grade.

If you like it - and she likes it - then I think you're ok. :)

It was by GIA.

Before i purchased it i did check HCA which is really why i ended up buying it because i thought it scored well.

It does! HCA is a rejection tool, and you found one that has angles that play nicely together. I'm betting it's a stunner in real life.
