Diamond looks dark?

I received the ring today. I certainly see the fires but the diamond looks dark in some lights. Is that normal? This is what I have.

A diamond can only “work with” the available light source, so in dim lighting it will always appear darker. Conversely the reason why diamonds look so spectacular in high end jewellery shops is that they go the complete other way and spend thousands on special lighting that really emphasizes the sparkles.

Well cut diamonds will go dark in direct sunlight as well.
