So if any of you have read my other thread, you know I have been looking for an e-ring for my girlfriend. I finally found a diamond on bluenile but I don''t like their settings. They are nice but I don''t want to spend the money when I can get the same settings for 75 dollars less on whiteflash or JA. Is there anyway to get the diamond set by another company? I''m sure there is but I was hoping to do this quickly and without having to risk shipping the diamond all over. Would bluenile ship directly to another vendor to have it set? I''m also assuming that the other vendor would probably charge a fee to set a diamond that isn''t theirs? My other thought was just having the diamond and setting sent to me and having them set in a local shop but I don''t know who is dependable... Kays? Zales?

HELP!!!

I am not sure about the shipping questions and setting fees, you would be better asking the vendors directly.
As for setting the stone...I would not feel comfortable with Zales or Kay, they will have to send the stone and setting out to be set and it would take at least a week if not more. You would be better finding a local B&M (mom and pop type shop) and having them do the job in their shop.

You'd have to contact WF or JA. I know the PS vendor's have worked with each other in setting stones. I'd stay away from Zales, & Kays Etc... Good luck.

I think you could find a killer diamond at WF and buy one of their settings too. If you have a stone set at another vendor, it''s not insured in the event that is chipped or damaged. However, if you buy both the stone and setting it will be, which is much safer in my opinion.

Have you actually purchased from Bluenile yet? Maybe we can help you find something at another vendor. IMHO I much prefer WF or GOG as they give you much more info on their stones on the website, and they have upgrade policies.

Best to have diamond set by the place where you bought it, in case something happens during the setting process. I bought my setting seperate from a B&M vendor, mailed it to GOG, and had GOG set their diamond. This way they take responsibility for damage to diamond which is probably rare.

Thanks for the awesome replies. I actually called WF last night and they had access to the same diamond, so i think I''ve got this figured out finally. these are the diamond''s specs (remember I''m a poor college kid!!!):

Strong Blue Flouro (should help the color right?)
