I''m deciding between a couple loose (round) diamonds from online vendors. my plan is to give the diamond to a local jeweler to put in a platinum setting that my gf has strongly hinted she likes. both the diamonds have GIA reports and are G color, which I know is the highest grade of near colorless, but I want to get the opinions of people here as to whether G is colorless enough for a platinum setting. I think it probably is, I just want to make sure.
the two are very similar, including in price $3100-$3300.
#1
0.85 ct, excellent cut, G, VS2, depth 59.6%, table 59%, no fluorescence, medium girdle, 6.20x6.18x3.69 mm, polish excellent, symmetry very good, no culet
#2
0.85 ct, excellent cut, G, VS1, depth 62.6%, table 57%, no fluorescence, medium girdle, 6.08-6.06-3.8 mm, polish very good, symmetry excellent, no culet
if anyone has any opinions on these two, or recommends a different concoction of the 4 Cs for roughly the same money, I''d be glad to hear it. thanks.
