AN, if you are in PA today try to get over to Peddler's Village and see the gingerbread house display in the gazebo! They are the best entries I have seen in a very long time. In fact so good I could not pick a favorite. I had so many!!

Thanks, DF, for the pics. I love seeing your watches-they're gorgeous. My dh is pining for a nice watch but he's the kind of person who will wait years to get just what he wants. He's very picky! I'm in the learning stage but I'd like to get him one in the next couple of years. What do you suggest? Haven't you mentioned, in the past, that there are really only a few watch brands that are well made these days? Should I look for a Lange? Other brands? How much should I plan to spend to get something decent?

IMO...JLC are the best value in high end watches. my next watch (when i have money ) will either be a Patek Philippe or a JLC.

DF, do you know of a less expensive place to repair a Rolex? Last time I had it fixed (moisture in the watch) by an authorized jeweler it was $750!

This time he dropped it on tile and the crystal is in a jillion pieces . . .

While I'm saving my pennies for an investment watch, he also needs a good sports watch. Do you have a suggestion for one that will wear well on the weekends, last a long time (I can replace the band) and not be too huge and bulky?

Oh, man! I was at the purists.com as one of the "regulars" when they were the "new thing" and I could have ordered one for $24,000.

That's what he sold them for in the beginning.

And I had the cash.
