My BF got a stainless steel Longines HydroConquest watch with a SS bracelet band for x-mas.

We are trying to figure out if it is possible to switch SS band for a leather one for a different look. called customer service and Longine parts and they had no idea if we could attach a leather band. I never see rolex or other types of nice sporty metal watches with leather bands... so is it impossible?

It depends on the way the bracelet or strap connects to the watch.

My Chopard is designed to take either a leather strap or a bracelet. The pin goes through the entire bracelet or strap up where it attaches to the watch [I hope you understand what I mean.]

I just looked at my Rolex and it could not take a leather strap because the pin seems to go through just through the top 2 gold pieces [this is a Datejust] pieces on the top which tuck into the watch part.

I found a photo of the Longines HydroConquest and it seems to be designed more along the lines of my Rolex [See how the top link kinda tucks into the solid part of the watch and the pin goes through both the solod part of the watch and the top link of the bracelet?] so I doubt you would be able to get it to take a leather strap.

Thanks. I understand what you are saying.

We got it online but decided to just go to a local authorized dealer to see if it can work. i never see rolex with leather bands... but I do know some of the same looking divers watches can have the SS bracelet removed and replaced with a think rubber sports type band (tag heuer) so maybe Longine is same. fingers crossed!

personally... I have the cartier roadster that can easily be switched from bracelet to leather so he is jealous!

you can put a leather strap on any watch if it comes with a removeable bracelet. i use to wear a Rolex day/date on a leather strap, just be sure to get the correct size strap.
