After creeping around in this forum for several months, I can proudly say I probably know more about diamond than my soon-to-be fiancé. **wink**wink** thank you all for the valuable postings.

Here is my first posting....I hpe you can help me find the ideal diamond...this is a diamond I have in mind

Can someone kindly offer some insight about this diamond?

. Carat: 1.01
. Depth %: 61.2
. Table %: 56.4
. Crown %: 15.3
. Pavilion %: 43
. Cut: Ideal

(pricing and vendor are omitted for objective assessment)

Do you know of any comparable diamonds out there?

My budget is around $9k, ideal cut, D/E, VS2.

Thanks again,

Benny

Does the diamond you mention have an EGL grading report, if so which division graded it - such as EGL USA, Antwerp, Israel etc?

The diamond I mention about is graded by AGS; and it is selling for $8700. the apples recommended by JulieN definately have their competitve edges. They are all very beautiful; and, therefore, I am even more confused.

I guess I just have to stay focus on the first three - 2 H&A from GOG and WF and the one from JamesAllen

JamesAllen is larger (not sure it really makes a difference) with "D" color. The difference between JamesAllen and the other two diamonds is H&A cutting. Does H&A make such a big difference visually? Or, is it more of a popular trend?

WF also ranks its diamond "A Cut Above". does anyone know it means something significant?

Much appreciated..
