I do believe the second one is from the Etsy vendor Rare Earth.

Is this from her pinterest? Are these the ideas she's hinting at? What's your budget?

This style is pretty common from lots of places I'm sure you can get a cushion or round center in a cushion halo with pave shank loads of places, just a matter of budget.

The first ring you posted is a harry wintston inspired halo. No idea who made that exact ring but they are all over the place. Charmy wrote a wonderful guide on having one made: https://www.pricescope.com/community/threads/cushion-101-my-experience-in-making-a-harry-winston-halo.183473/

Your second picture is a cross between a Tacori style ring and a Tiffany legancy style. I'm not sure of the exact designer, but this could easily be made if you can't find the desinger. I would ask them to change the proportion of the diamonds in the shank better as I think the gaps are too large for my personal taste.

Regardles both rings are lovely! Goodluck and let us know if you have further questions. It seems halos are now a speciality of PS. You might want to check out the halo thread for inspirations if you haven't already. Both of these are very popular styles right now...Ritani has something similar to the first one...Blue Nile has similar to the second one (three sided pave).

Those two don't look especially well made. And gosh .. that is one yucky cushion in the first ring.

WOW!!! thanks to all of you for your replies, I can tell you will all be a HUGE help as I am VERY new at this whole ring shopping thing!!!

As far as how much I want to spend I want to spend as little as possible as I don't have a whole lot of money, but I DO appreciate quality and recognize that this is a one time thing and by that I mean I will only ever buy ONE engagment ring which we both have to live with forever therefore it has to be NICE!!! 7K is WAY out of my price range, I would say 4K would be on the HIGH end for me, therefore I'm looking at how to get bang for my bucks.

Am I crazy with my budget and a ring like that?

I would lean towards the first ring as I think it suites her better!

If it has to have pave in the shank I'd go with this setting.

http://www.jamesallen.com/engagement-rings/halo/14k-white-gold-pave-halo-and-shank-diamond-engagement-ring-cushion-center-item-17429

Leaves you 3k for the stone.

I'd ask if they can use that cushion setting for a round stone. From what I've seen of JA they can... but still ask to make sure. The second ring you posted had a round in a cushion halo. Sense those are easier to find, face up larger, and are very sparkly, I say that. You can get an i-j 0.7-0.8 ct for 3k. Here's one I like, should be fine in that halo, and if you ask for a price scope discount and pay by wire transfer its about 1-5% cheaper. I'd reserve that plus 2 others, I'm sure the others here could post a few, I'm limited in searching sense I am on my phone. They will review them, tell you which performs best.

There have been many wonderful examples of this ring done on a budget.

I would recommend contacting LuAnn at IDJ and Mark at Engagment Rings DIrect to see if they can help you buy a center stone and make the halo. Both have done this ring before with excellent results. IDJ carrys a line of rings called Gabriel and Co settings which seem quite popular and work well for those on a budget.

Thanks again...excuss my ignorance but I have heard of friends of mine buying custom rings for under 1000K...I realize the ring I posted has A LOT of bling, BUT I am REALLY new at this and have NO IDEA what I am getting into in buying a ring when it comes to cost for settings and rocks and such. 4K is the max I would EVER spend and would prefer less.

Any advice?

Pave is expensive. This ring CAST (cheaper then hand forged) is usually around 2-4k just for the setting. Gabriel and Co have some around 1-1.5k I believe. You could always alter it though to just do pave on the halo and do a plain shank. Bascially what I am saying is you have options so you will need to get out there and see what vendors can put together for your budget. If you start a new thread looking for a diamond then people on this board will help you find a great deal on one. Just post your budget and specs (color, ctw etc).

What you should really find out about is what is more important to you? If 4k is your total end budget then perhaps you only buy the diamond and placed it in a solitare. Then for a anniversary down the road reset into a halo setting. Another option is buying a ring pre-loved. Jewels by Erica Grace is very popular on the boards. Plus they do a 3 month lay a way with 0% interest.

What size center are you trying to get with your budget? If your comfortable with a. 6-.7 I-j round it can be done with that JA setting for closer to 3.

People here will usually post close to whatever budget you give. So if you really aren't comfortable with 4k, maybe post your budget lower?

Here are a couple of 0.7 ct stones that paired with that setting would out you around 3k

I don't have all the angles, the mobile site said the depth and table were good though, so worth requesting more info about, sense its a nice price!

(I know the polish is good but still I'd look into it)

This is super high quality and would keep your budget down, but doesn't have diamonds in the shank.

This one though is really nice! Going to be much better quality than JA or Gabriel and co. Notable better quality, and still a few hundred under 4k when paired with that j (if its a good one)

Here's a little smaller one but cheaper. And the cut is amazing! . Also I think you get 75 dollar off your fist purchase with them. (Used to I don't know about anymore. )

http://www.whiteflash.com/loose-diamonds/round-cut-loose-diamond-2949587.htm

And they sell ritani, so even if they don't have that setting I posted up there on there site, I think they could still get it.

Worth asking. :wavey:
