Designer wedding band vs etsy/online?

Hey everyone, I've been looking into wedding bands for a while and I'm considering etsy because I figured if I pick a store with good reviews it'll be a lot better than any other online store (I.e. James Allen, blue Nile, whiteflash). I've been avoiding designer stores (I.e. tiffany, Cartier, David yurman) because I did not want to pay for a brand name...however I'm now wondering if their pieces actually last longer? Maybe they have better electroplating technology than the smaller etsy stores? Their prongs are sturdier??? Can someone give me some insight in this...Ideally I would like to save some money if I could but quality is also very important. I'm looking into a rose gold diamond wedding band and a plain band for the SO.

Can you give us an idea of what you are looking at? That may sway our opinions. Are you looking to save money?

I dont think we can say anything in general. I think its going to depend on the individual Etsy shop. Probably best to stick to ones that PSers
have used and have been happy with the results.

In terms of brand name I'm considering:

David yurman


Tiffany harmony

Cartier love

I'm just looking for the best balance of quality and price...If that makes sense. I'm willing to spend more for quality but only if it's worth the price difference.

For the setting with stones I would consider and get a quote from David Klass. He does nice work at a decent prices. Not cheap but not branded
dollar signs either. He does CADs so you can post and we can help with any changes you might need.

You're only going to get the Love band from Cartier...so no savings to be had there unless your ok with pre-loved. You can check out ebay,
1stdibs and other second hand shops if you're ok with that.

Thank you for the recommendations I certainly have not thought of those sites! I will look into them. I was actually just curious whether these bigger luxury brands use better electroplating technology or something...Making their rose gold jewellery last longer? Lol
