depth of emerald cut

Am thinking about purchasing an emerald cut, but the depth of 53% is making me hesitate. Help

I wouldn't do it. I don't know a lot about emerald cuts, but I do know that I would not get a stone with a depth outside of the 60-65% range. The stone will be completely lifeless, as light will leak horribly out the pavilion before it can be reflected. Cut is the most important "C", so I personally would not consider a stone with a below average cut.
