Depth and stone question

I am loking at a round stone 1.7 carats with the following
g color
vs2 clarity
exc polish
vg symmetry
55% table
63.2% depth
Flour: None
Girdle: thin
Culet: None
7.56-7.65x4.81
gia cert

is the depth too much?
a jeweler said that the small table makes up for the larger depth.
is this true?
what should I be paying for such a stone?

by now you might get the idea that there is no answer to your question.

You need more info - read the tutorial, get crown and pavilion angles and if it still looks OK, then get IS etc
