Deep green gem with strong, irregular chatoyance - what could it be?

Here we go again, as I'm now in my late grandmother's home country and slowly unearthing her jewelry.

Does anyone know what this stone could be? It has its fair share of light scratches, so it's probably not the hardest gem. Is it even a natural stone? I really have no clue and am thankful for any pointers.

If Pietersite was green, I'd say Pietersite. It could be dyed Pitersite or Tiger's Eye.
