Okay ...

So I''m dying to talk about this but I don''t want to hurt anyone''s feelings.

Does anyone remember me having a dream dress that I seriously wanted but it was way over my budget & out of the question. Well a *real* bride wore it in a recent wedding and I stumbled on a picture and **SQUEE** I''m so happy I didn''t get that dress after all. I know that''s terrible. But if you want to see the pictures go here. I''m trying to not make this searchable so the person in question never accidently discovers this post.

Funny how things work out, huh? You looked AMAZING at your wedding --- can''t quite picture you in this other gown now....

well, especially after seeing how wonderful you looked in your dress, you made a great choice ;) and we''re all allowed to be snarky once in a while!!

i do like the dress **you** wore

I''m glad you didn''t pick that dress either. I love the way you looked on your wedding day. Such a romantic feel

Seeing that pix ...I just had the most incredible sense of RELIEF ... like ... even if I was RICH RICH RICH and could have had the *exact* dress I *thought* I wanted ... I mighta HATED it later/in pix/on me! But how LUCKY for me that I''m so happy with that last minute replacement David''s Bridal frock-cicle ... that cost literally 1/10th of that dress in the link!

I''m relieved that it''s over and that it all worked out so well! But you see other threads, people & their dream dresses and you wonder "what if" blah blah ... and in this tiny little MIRACLE, I got to SEE "what if" and ... and ...

***For the record - I''m picturing MYSELF & the tragedy that *I* would have been in that (shiny, bathrobe-like) dress ... NOT "dissing" the lovely bride who wore it for her wedding.

Deco, I definitely remember your first dream wedding dress thread, and I have to say I was quite a fan of the shirtdress. But when I saw the pics of your wedding, you really did choose the perfect dress for yourself! Now, that''s NOT to say you wouldn''t have looked gorgeous in a shirtdress wedding gown....there is a certain "panache" about them that I think you could''ve carried off... This particular bride''s pics make me think she forgot to have it hemmed, or something.

It just looks WEIRD.

I feel bad for saying that, but whatever. Just goes to show what''s in your head as a bride to be when looking for dresses sometimes doesn''t compute with what looks fab in the end. I think this bride''s dress still could''ve been altered to still have that shirtdress-appeal somehow...maybe she just didn''t follow through and have it made to really flatter her. Unfortunate, to say the least.

BUT YOU WERE BEAUTIFUL!!!!

And your wedding pics were fabulouso! (When will we see more?????)

Your idea was spot on, Deco, but you rocked in your dress and the other just leaves me flat...though I am sure you would have looked amazing in it...nice how some things work out as they should in the end, no?

Shirtwaist dresses are cute, with vintage aprons...or little vintage hats... veils just don''t work as an accessory...shirtwaists also look nice in patterned fabric...

Oh, how unfortunate... it doesn''t fit her right at all...

And you looked totally fab in yours!!! I''m glad you''ve had your "dream dress" dashed!
