Deciding btn Oval or Cushion Ring. Your thoughts?

Hello all, first time posting here, although I've been lurking for years!

It's our 10 yr wedding anniversary and hubby suggests I upgrade my ring (solitaire, 1.22ct). Please see attached pics: deciding between an antique cushion cut (2CT, G, VS2) , and an oval stone (2.13CT, G, VS2). The prices are about the same.

At the jeweler, I was drawn to the cushion, but I suspect I was reacting to a set piece of jewelry vs a bare stone (the oval is not set). I photoshopped the oval so I can visualize it better--please pardon the crudeness . FWIW, this jeweler is known for their cushion halo rings. But an oval stone faces up quite a bit bigger...Would love to hear your thoughts!

I think the cushion looks better for your finger. Different shapes flatter different hands and I think the cushion flatters yours.

Agreed--I like the cushion much better, especially in the halo setting!

It is not apples to apples. that looks like a nice cushion. But isn't a nice oval. So between those two the cushion. That said, if the oval was nicer... the oval.

Thanks for the quick responses! I'm leaning towards the cushion too. When researching, all the oval ring pics make me go ahhh but somehow not in person... Going back tomorrow for final look, will come back and post. Thanks again
